I started out with 32g wire. I quickly abandoned it in favor of 30g on vv and vw devices; 28g on mechanicals. 32g is too finicky, IMO. Bump the mod, set it down on a table too hard, drop it, and a 32g coil will shift sometimes, and require re adjustment. Thicker wire may not. Plus, I just find the flavor superior with thicker wire.

would rba be better with mesh or ekowool?

I've been using mesh entirely, for over a year. Lately, along with some others on here, I've set up a couple genesis RBAs with ekowool, just fooling around. It works well. Ekowool is easier to set up.

Check out my blog if you decide to go the AGA-T2 route (and even if you don't, it cross applies to any SS mesh set up).

I have set up my AGA-Ts with SS mesh and with silica, haven't tried ekowool in them yet, why change out what is working well? Both work well and I imagine ekowool will too.

I mirror Rule62's advice. 28g or 30g for mechs, 30g for vv/vw. More problems with 32g than I can recount. I am able to set up 32g, but heavier gauge is easier with less maintenance issues.
