hmm in 9 months I spent about 1000 if not more, but I also paid 300 a month to smoke,....
Imn my eyes I tried to promise myself not to spend more then I would have spent smoking, and seeing how much I spent on smoking heh i got lots of room to play.
heck just dropped 150 on DIY liquids this week.(wiz labs loves me)
260 on a provari setup last week.(time for the real deal)
70 bucks on a cheapo APV from china with batterys 2 weeks ago.(something to take fishing)
constant stream of boxes and packages, this clearo, that tank, this atty, some more wicks, these drip tips on and on...........

If you let it you can become addicted to buying gear very easy. if you get a good setup and quit playing the money adds up quick.

I spent quite a bit when I first started vaping, but I never spent more than I used to spend on cigarettes. I never felt guilty about the spending since I wasn't spending more than I used to. I have found that I spend far less now that I've gotten over the experimental phase. I rarely spend more than $40-$50 a month now, and there are some months I don't spend a dime!

I am about about $900 into this after 3 months. But, that includes about $250 in hardware that is on order or in transit to me.

I think I very soon I will be down to juice and occassional batteries as the only expenses (Using RBAs).

But planning on starting DIY juice soon too, so there will be some equipment costs involved there.

Basically I am spending so far 2x what I spent on smokes, but within a few months I should be able to go positive on the savings.

But, really I don't mind spending 2x to stay of the cigarettes if I have to!

WOW 3.5 packs a day it's like every other breath was an inhale!!!!!!!!
I was a two pack a day smoker and felt like every three breaths was an inhale.
For me right now $76.00 for starter and accessories. I now have another order around $56.00 for back ups.

I'm at about $390 not including the V2 kit I "gifted" to my dad and made a convert out of successfully already so I'm not counting it lol.

as per my counter I quit smoking on day one so yeah... 2.5 weeks.... damn black friday sales lol

i need to make one more order... waiting to see if ccv does any black friday deals before i buy another 15 pack of 3.0 tank flanged smoktechs lol and then i should be set on batteries/gear/juice for the next 3 months and literally need nothing

I am not to worried about the cost, I know my frugal nature will catch me up at some point. I was spending over $200/month on stinkies and the health savings makes it all worthwhile no matter the cost to me

I've spent a lot more than I did as a 1/2 PAD smoker, about $700 in the last few months. But $500 of that has been experimenting with hardware, $400 of that after I found the Ego Twist and Vivi Nova, which are fine and I could have stopped right there. But I know now what I like, variable volt mods with rebuildable atomizers. It's a great journey and I don't regret a single penny . . . well my first starter kit's cartridges were useless, but everything else has gotten me to a setup I can enjoy for a while.

when i started vaping i was spending loads, i was quite worried about it because i was spending more on vaping then i would on cigs, but as times gone on and i got a setup that suited me and found flavors that i liked my spending started to drop. about a month ago i started drawing abit of money out my bank account whenever any went in, and putting it in a old wallet i keep in my drawer so i wouldn't/couldn't spend it on vaping, just leaving enough in so i could buy the necessities. its been quite hard because it does get quite addictive buying bits and bobs to try all the time. but ive realised that its not a race n im prob gonna be vaping for years so plenty of time to try the flavors and bits that ive got my eye on. good luck mightymen and welcome to the forums :)

In the 6 months since I started about £400, buying this battery, then that, this charger then that. I think at the beginning it takes a lot of buying errors before you find your perfect kit. Doesn't help to be a gadget freak either, because I want them all.
All I see when I close my eyes is an ADDTOCART button lol

I think the reason for the steep startup costs is because of the "exploration" process. Most of us do not have a mentor to help us sort through the buying pitfalls. Then you arrive at ECF and research the overwhelming amount of infomation. We all basically end up upgrading to what we should have started with in the first place. In my humble opinion, a basic beginner startup including liquids should cost less than $50 (U.S.D.). That being said, I am mentoring my "smoking" friends into the transition from analogs to e-cigs. I can get them 1100mah batteries, clearos, and juice for that.
