vaping 25 days, analog free for 11 days, give or take a few hours.... so far no intense analog cravings, but did have to have slight restraint in bumming one or buying a pack once or twice, it was a lot easier to check my vape apps and see how low my numbers were and to not want to have to start the counts over than it was to ask or walk to the store....
Had a few "running late" mornings where I didnt have my "morning smoke" and a few moments of always feeling hungry, a few "out of it" and not enough but then too much nicotine moments....
Havent been hacking up lungs or the 10+ years of damage yet, stuff doesn't taste different yet and still short of breathe easily at times but my lungs don't feel like they're gonna bust when running, so far....

Wha t else can I expect, good and bad, and about when and for how long? An hour without a smoke used to be a disaster waiting to happen but I'm finding myself only taking a vae or two here and there and going 2-3 hours without without any issues recently but other times almost chain vaping for a good 30 minutes....

There will be ups and downs. You will get the cravings again if you have already. But you will wake up one morning and realize how much better you are sleeping. Then you will notice that some of the things you did no longer make you short of breath. There will be times when the lingering smoke on other people will make you wonder how people ever got near you. But don't look down on those people, you were one once!
You may go through other withdrawal symptoms including mood swings, but if you make small orders with free shipping, the anticipation of getting the VAPEMAIL will fix that right up.

Somewhere out there
Congrats!!!!!!!!!! You may have a few trying times here and there but you are doing so well, just tell yourself vape first anytime you get an urge. Also get a few disposables, if don't have any, to keep on hand just incase, they are fiddle free and can really help when you are in a rush :) Keep up the good work!!! bnrk

The few cravings so far were mostly the first few days before my twist came in the mail and more out of habits (drinking and smoking, having to walk away from the group to vape when I'm used to having to move away to smoke etc) and I tended to time things by analogs.... if I just finish an analog around a certain intersection or whatever, it took it me 5 minutes or so to get there, etc.... with vaping, I have no clue.... apart from that, I still go to the smoke pit to vape, ive had better friendships and better conversations with others there than elsewhere....

Interestingly, shortness of breath started decreasing after the first few days of vaping while decreasing the analogs.... I don't forsee the mood swings being that bad, especially with knowing when to walk away with a terrible two running around.... I havent been as moody either since I quit analogs ...
Havent been affected by cigarette smoke, it has always been around with my dad doing a pack a day inside and most of the grandparents and aunts and uncles smoking at least a pack a day inside....

Off topic but it really makes me wonder how bad second hand smoke really is with me being exposed to that much for 18 years before I started my 12 year run of smoking with no serious health issues other than the shortness of breath randomly (could run 3+ miles regularly withiut issue but going up 2 flights of stairs would feel like I was only walking back and forth from the bed to the kitchen for too many years) and after a chest xray being asked if I was sure I smoke.... none of my family died from anything related to smoking, although it probably worsened the circumstances....

Ive never specifically wanted to quit, nicotine at least.... I tried once and patches didnt work.... vaping is cheaper and I don't have to hide vaping in the car and I don't have to plan for running out of analogs and making sure I have the money for another carton rather than buying a pack a day.... and I don't have to worry abiut people asking for a smoke when they couldn't plan ahead....

I'm planning another juice order, looking for some sampler packs and eventually getting into mixing my own pending all of this fda stuff.... any recommendations on decent flavor sampler packs? Or an awesome vanilla juice?

And I think I'm good on batteries and stuff.... have a blu starter pack I still use here and there if only to ensure I keep it charged and to change things up....

Everyone at works knows about me quitting and vaping, as does the wife and they don't give me issues with taking breaks still, especially since they're either shorter but more frequent or just not as frequent.... and I work on cumputers too much and alwayd have both chargers with me, the store is a 2 min walk from the shop and we're always running in for drinks and stuff and they always have disposables or blu carts and I always have at least one bottle of juice on me as well....

Yeah, I think I'm doing pretty good so far for a 12 year smoker with 10 years at at least a pack a day.... and I quit on a shift that I usually do two packs a day....

Keep it up! I was on and off the wagon for 5 years before I gave up trying to make KR808's work and got a couple of mods! 1 year smoke free, and though I still sometimes get a little nostalgic when I'm at the convenience store checkout and I see my American Spirit Light Menthols, I know I have the willpower to say "NO!"

Up in Smoke
knowing when to walk away

Congratulations for showing restraint! We all know how difficult it can be. Once you hit the two week mark I would think the withdrawal symptoms would begin to diminish. After a month I began to notice a heighten sense of smell and taste. The lungs continue to get stronger with each passing day. Reward yourself with something special. You deserve it. Good luck!

the hardest part was not asking for a pack of smokes when i was at the store..
for the first month or so weird cravings to smoke come and go. but after thinking about them, i realized it was more to just have the cigarette not to have whats in them.

it will take a while for somethings to repair themselves. the lungs didnt start for me until about a month later . then it was gagging fits in the shower for a week or two.

the taste took a little longer if i remember, but for me it was almost overnight, woke up one day and i could smell everything, the smallest things a block away it seemed. grilled up a burger and wow. i love a good dripping burger but that day, that was the best burger i ever had or so it seemed.

it will take time but it will happen, hang in there and fight through it and before you know it youll be OCD on gear like us :D

My "hobbies" turn into addictions and my addictions turn into almost obsessions.... I started growing peppers last year, a few plants on the balcony in pots, it turned into turning the backyard into a garden with about 30 pepper plants ranging from jalapenos to some of the hottest in the world, and what was planned to onky run me abiut $80 in soil and mulch and fertilizer ended up running about $200 and I still have more to do... and I have 5 jars of homemade hotsauce that I couldn't wait for my own peppers to make them.... I rotate through this forum, googling different juice companies abd gardening forums and checking on school stuff all day when my two year old and work lets me....

Growing peppers. That's not a bad thing to be obsessed with :) Keep plugging away, it gets easier.
