Sounds like my mother in law! Woman is a saint, do NOT get me wrong, but sometimes I wish she'd take a break!

I'm sure OP is very, very grateful to have a healthy, active, and involved mother. Even an overwhelming offering of love and "help" can be stressful, though. Doesn't mean OP would have it any other way.

Anyway -- enjoy a good vape and hopefully a good laugh. :)

You're absolutely right. I know how lucky I am to have my mother healthy and active at her age. She's an amazing woman who's always done everything she could for anyone she could, but yes she can be overwhelming. I love her dearly and never tell her no when she wants to 'help'.

She's a huge NASCAR fan, just like the rest of my family, so next weekend I'll be taking the free Brickyard 400 tickets I get every year and treating her to a full day filled with lots of love, exhaust fumes, rumbling engines and Joes Crab Shack on the way home, just the two of us. She'll take along some wipes to clean the seats before we can sit on them, hand sanitizer, a cooler full of bottled water and one pepsi for me (because I have to be healthy but still have a treat) and a bag full of healthy snacks and one Zero candy bar.

She called a few minutes ago to make sure I was up before she comes to pick up antique iron bedframe to strip and paint it for me. She suggested I think about new carpet in the bedroom to match the bath, and this afternoon we're going to pick up fabric so she can make new curtains. Heavens I wish I had her energy.

Bless your heart! And thanks to your son (I'm presuming he's the Marine?) for his service :)

Hang in there - I'm sure Momma means well. These will be the stories you get to share with your grandkids, and you'll laugh hysterically, I'd bet. I do empathize with your frustration, tho'

(I lost my Mom 8 years ago, just 9 days shy of her 71st b'day - last 5 or 6 years were poor health due to Parkinson's)

Have a drink and a vape - things will get better!

Yes, my son is the Marine. He's a reservist now and I'm so proud of him I can't see straight. I'm sure I'll be just as helpful to him and his family when I'm retired and full of energy! He's already warned me against it thought LOL

Oh my dear lady... does that bring back memories of my mother and mother-in-law in our household during our younger years. :)

But you held up! :D. Stressful days do happen. Only remember one such time since vaping where I had to crank up my PV to a gazillion volts and hit it hard for an hour or so. It worked. Thank god for regulated mods.
