My Lavatube qualifies as stealth, nothing lights up when I vape, but my ViVi Novas tend to come apart unless I use an extension with them on the LavaTube, the top of the mod "grabs" the bottom of the Nova. So I have to carry pliers around with me everywhere I go
or I can't replace the Nova when it's time to switch them, because the extension sticks to the Nova. Also, with the extension, the Nova leaks vapor all over the place when I'm pulling on it, that's not too stealthy.

Provaris (not that I like the price anyway) seem to have light-up LED's anyway.

Anything in between that will allow me to go to court and say "Can you prove I lit my PV?" when vaping someplace where "lit" cigarettes are not allowed and e-cigs are classed as cigs?

I could even take something a little smaller than the 18650, looks like my Spinner 1300 mah is enough to last 24 hours, but the button lights up and the batteries aren't replaceable. So I could handle something that takes a 1300+-mah AW IMR.

Colors are nice, of course, as is made-in-US, but really the stealth and works-with-a-Nova and AW IMR are what matter to me.

I would also chose something smaller than a 18650 would give me, but if a LT is stealth for you that's cool :thumb:

I do believe the Prov is smaller than the LT and Statistic says you can turn the light off so that might work well for you. My big VN's do not sit tight on my LT's (ver 1.5) so I don't have any issues with them coming apart when I go to replace them. (The small VN's have a large lower metal ring to grab, so they can't be a problem this way) You might try to tighten the VN outer tube to the VN bottom piece a bit more and the VN to the LT a bit less. Another thought is to pull the pin slightly on the LT and then you would have clearance between the LT and the VN. Whatever you try here, be gentle with it. It's all about small changes and not damaging anything when trying things out.

If the most important thing is that no light comes on, a mechanical mod has none. They are also generally smaller than VV mods. A VN with a 1.8 ohm head on a 18650 mechanical should do great, but I have not actually tried this. Might be just a tad hot with a fresh battery, so a bit of experimentation will probably be in order. Best of luck with it!

I've got a mechanical for doomsday backup, but I really really really can't stay off of stinkies without vv right now. I have to change the voltage to match my rebuild mistakes, and to compensate for time-of-day and temperature, and especially to compensate for aging coils.

I love my spinner, but it lights up. I was trying to stealth vape on a plane in the dark and I swear, I couldn't read a book by the led it was so bright in there. (Thank goodness for blankets!)

If there was a spinner that did NOT light up, I'd go for that. Otherwise, I wonder if a mini-Provari or similar device that takes something a little smaller than 18650 might be good. I can get 18650 at 2000 mah, what tops out around 1300? 14500's give way too little mah.

I can confirm that you can turn off the lighted fire button on Provari's.

I stealth vape in the cinema all the time. You can always cup a smaller size mod against your palm as you vape to block any lighted LED. My two favorite mods to stealth vape are both Smoktech Grippers.

The variable volt version runs between $30 - 40. Lighted LED screen that also can show battery voltage and atomizer resistance. Uses an 18650 imr battery.

Gripper-cartotank.jpg

The single voltage version, or mech version, runs for only $16. It uses an 18350 battery good for at least 8 hours between charges (carry a spare if you need to). Incredibly stealthy if you use a 45mm XL carto which actually fits inside the mod body. Purchase the extension connector and you can put any other kind of juice delivery device on top.

So, if I don't want light and I don't want to use an extension, will the vv gripper work for me? I assume the screen only lights up when adjusting or querying, not when vaping?

The LED screen DOES light up with the V-V Gripper and can't be disabled to my knowledge. It has a top firing button, so I hold the mod tightly in my palm to completely cover the LED light or hold a finger over the LED screen when vaping in the cinema.

The mechanical Gripper has no LED or light.

I have a nice second-hand wooden bottom-feeder (which I have yet to try out.)

It is Physics that the Less mAh you have, the Shorter you can Vape. And yes 18350 do have Less mAh. But sometimes you have to ask yourself just How Long do I need to Stealth Vape?

I don't know How Long these Flights you take are. Or how Long you can go Without a Hit? But for me, I would think that a 18350 should be able to get you were your Going.

BTW - For the Ultimate VV in the Featherweight Class, check out this Mod.

With layovers (also in no-vape areas) 18 hours to 24 hours so far. Though it might be awhile before I do that again.

I'd love the gripper option if it didn't light up when pulling. For instance, the screen on my LavaTube only lights up when I'm using the screen, not when I vape.

I'm willing to vape with something that SHOWS in my hand but would allow me to claim I wasn't "lighting" the device. I think an 18500 would be enough for SURE but an 18350 might do.

...

I don't Vape nearly as much as I used to. But I don't think a 18350 would last me 18. Let along 24 Hours.

I have a AW 18500 IC that I use in Rotation with my AW 18490 IMR's for my Provari. I can do a one Day-Night cycle with it.

Another use for the old duct tape. :p

Has anybody figured out how to quiet down the button in the Gripper? At this point, that looks like the main minus. I could put blackout tape or something over the display (I vape with my right hand so the display would be away from my palm.) But a review I saw had the button SO loud that it would only be stealth if outdoors in a high wind.

It's nowhere a silent button, but it's not THAT loud. I've had two V-V Grippers, and both were the same. Certainly nothing that would attract attention on a plane or a cinema with some background noise present.
