Is there a way to get calcs from Steam Engine for Clapton coils? Or is there another calculator? I'm a flavor chaser, twisted send to give better flavor so I'm thinking Clapton coils would be even better. I have 24,26,28, and 32 Kanthal so I'd like to twist my own vs buying pre-made.
do you own an ohm meter?? if so, make up a foot of wire and put the entire foot on an atty and then onto the meter, read ohms, divide by 12 and you get the ohms per inch rating .... use that rating in the calculator....

Generally with clapton coils, the inner wire is your resistance. The outer wrap doesn't affect anything. I can't remember who told me that but I made a 26ga center with a 32ga outer wrap. When I put the coil on Atty I just used the 26 ga when counting my resistance. I was going for a .4 and it came out to a .45 to .5 when done.
