Steam Engine question.

I am new to building coils and have a few questions. There are different parameters you need to fill in on the steam engine and I'm a little confused. Material and profile are self explanatory, but the wire diameter ( AWG, & MM ) are throwing me off. I am not sure what to put in there. I'm trying to plug in parameters for 26 gage wire..round A1 Kanthal. I also do not know the inner diameter of the coil and the leg length. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could break it down for me in Layman's terms so I could understand it.
Also, what size coil jig should I use? 2mm, 2.5 or 3?

The awg will be 26 because you have 26 gage wire and the mm will adjust itself do not touch that.The inner diameter is the size you are wrapping the coil around,i normally use a coilmaster at 2.5 mm.The leg length i am not sure but i never touch that setting.Hope this helps.

In the wire diameter box just type in the gauge of the wire you are using, the mm box will auto populate. The inner diameter of the coil is the diameter of whatever you are using to wrap your around. The leg length is the distance from where the round part of the coil stops and where the wire is trapped under the post screw. Hope this helps.

That is just personal preference,i found my sweet spot is 2.5 mm. Just try experimenting.

The coil diameter depends on what you are after. I typically use 3.2, but everyone will say different.

There is no right or wrong here.

I leave the leg length at 5mm, it isn't enough wire to really throw off the calculation at all.

The size of the jig depends on how much room you have for the coil. I tend to use 3mm these days. I used 2mm before my Zephyrus and Billow decided to stop working for me. But they have small decks.
