I have only been vaping now for two and a bit months - totally off analogues. While I am one of those people who become obsessed with a new toy and have spent probably more than I would have spent on cigarettes in a couple of months (I was literally a 1-2 cigs a day kinda girl) - I simply love it.

The one thing that has boggled me the most is ejuices. Some are good, some are gross - but one thing for sure is that they all seem to taste better over time.

Initially I ordered tobacco flavoured juices - assuming as a smoker that would be what I liked. With my order however, the nice people at cevstore.com threw in a Timz French Vanilla sample - and I thought it was really good (the tobacco ones are still sitting in my drawer). So for the first month or so - that was all I vaped, but when I would reorder them - they seemed to taste different each time, but not unpleasant - but maybe weaker. I began to notice that the taste simply would change over time and get better.

After some research I heard about steeping juices and that apparently juices did in fact get better over time.

Two ways I have found to steep juices are:

1. Simply leave it in a dark place for a week or two

2. Take a cup of water and microwave it for a minute then put the sealed juice into the hot water until it cools. (I believe I might have read this one here in a thread)

If anyone has any other ideas on improving the flavour - or "ripening' the juice, I would love to know.. :)

p.s. Love this forum!

Interesting, I don't think I've heard about that faster way to steep juices. Apparently steeping for a couple of weeks helps the flavors blend. I wonder if heating the juice gently helps to accomplish that faster. Either way though, trying juices has been fun for me too. I also started with tobacco flavors, but I can hardly smoke them anymore. I have found that I really like menthol flavors though, which is really odd because I never smoked menthol cigs.

Also, welcome to ECF! You're right to love this forum. It's great and has a wealth of information.

Thanks for the welcome! That's funny about the menthol because I've found the same thing - I've started adding menthol or mint flavour to my juices - I think because my nic level is pretty low (9mg) it adds a bit extra throat hit.

Another way to steep it is to uncapp and then remove the dripper. Let it sit 24 hours, recap, shake, uncap, and let sit another 24 hours. I've had this method help when it comes to improving flavors...especially ones that taste like chemical at first. The oxygen helps to blend everything faster and to remove any chemical taste that may be there.

It's funny how that works. I used to be the guy that would say "Can I get a smoke from you? Oh, you have menthols. Nevermind, I'll go without." Now I have menthol drops to add to my non-menthol juices. If you haven't yet, you should check out VaporCast Store. They have some really good fruit+menthol juices that got me started on my menthol kick. It's somewhat emasculating to tell someone I'm vaping 'sex on the beach', but it's a great flavor. :vapor:
