Hi guys,

I would like to pose the question of steeping e-liquids and the likely benefits of it? I understand that a lot of people prefer to steep their juices but I am unaware of what the effect on my juice will be?

The main reason for my question is that I recently ordered some flavours from smokshop and tried each one on the date of arrival, and each one tastes disgusting - needing a VERY vivid imagination in order to make it taste like the intended flavour. In fact i can't even describe the unpleasant taste that each liquid has... Smokshop have fantastic service and prices so I DONT want this to become a NEGATIVE REVIEW for them, they are genuinely great people and do provide a top notch service!

So... would STEEPING help my juices to taste more like they were intended? And if so, whats the best way to steep said juices? (light/dark? warm/cool? etc etc)

I am worried that I may have wasted over £30 of my hard earned money on juices that are yuck! :?:

I sampled a smooth tobacco at a local shop and liked it so I bought a bottle of the juice. When I tried it at home it tasted like nasty tobacco. I let it steep for a few days to get the taste I remembered sampling. Steeping does help.

I have had liquids from smok shop myself, and found that some can be used stright from the bottle, while others need to steep for a few days.

I normally just take off the cap, and leave it in a cool dark place. (to mature) like you would do with a fine wine.

Which flavours have you tried? I would be interested to see if its just my flavours, or likely their whole range? Do we know if they mix juices to order? I will be VERY upset if NONE of my juices are any good :S

I have had highway, Delux blend, Churchill, Usa mix, and probably a couple more which i have forgot about. They were all good apart from the usa mix which is kind of pungent.

I was going to start a new thread about this as I wasnt sure about the whole steeping process, but found this one and those links are useful. The only thing that is still a bit hazy is whether to leave the cap on or not during steeping. I'm going with the cap off method for a week and see how that goes for now, and then will try with the cap on if i have any bad results.

One thing it does make me aware of is that some of the bad juices i have had from the bigger well known vendors are genuinely crap and it wasnt as a result of me not steeping it!

One question i do have though..... As i have not really been steeping so far, i have found that some juices are fine straight outta the bottle and some not so good. Unfortunately, the ones that arent so good are amongst what i would have thought of as my preferred flavours (vanilla, creme brulee, maple syrup) - maybe these kind of flavours rely on steeping more than others?

Hey codz, i love your avatar mate; spot on.

If it is any consolation to you i have had some really crappy juices myself, which i steeped with no good results. steep your juices with the cap off mate, this allows for any alcohol used in the process of manufacture, to evaporate. You are also correct that some are great straight from the box,and some are not.

I have found that when i find any juices that i really like, too stick with them.

Steeping: E-liquid sold on this site is mixed-to-order. All e-liquid flavour improves after mixing during a steeping period. For most non-tobacco flavours on this site, this period is a few days and e-liquid may be ready soon after you recieve them. It is advisable to order several days ahead of intending to use them. For tobacco flavours we pre-mix a flavoured base for using when mixing e-liquid. This reduces the steeping time neccessary, but you should find that they require extra days rest after you receive them to produce better flavour. You may find that tobacco flavoured e-liquids improve within 1-2 weeks, and it is advisable to order them a week or so ahead of intending to use them.
Ingredients for e-liquid are flavourings, PG, VG, nicotine, and a little distilled water.

I got all the liquids I didn't like, had built up 250ml of the stuff, I mixed it all up together and ended up with an awesome vape, anyone experienced that?

never tried that, but thought about it a couple of times LOl I may just give it a go. nothing to lose really, except over 100 ml of juice.

Cheers for the tips guys, i have diposed of pretty much everything i dont like so far. I've found about 15 that i like so far and have a good few 10ml bottles to get through then i'll be sticking to those flavours and maybe occassionally ordering a new one now and then just to make sure im not missing anything!

terry: As for Monsieur Cantona on my avatar i can only wish we had someone like him at the moment! If things go well this season i see United finishing 3rd. If things dont go well, maybe even outside the top 4. I think we can forget about Europe this season, but i have a funny feeling we will win the FA Cup and it will be enough to save Moyes from getting the boot.

I hope you are wrong with that codz,

The last few seasons we have had a rocky start, so too early to call it yet mate.

I hope i am wrong too - i think it will come right eventually, but i cant see us finishing above Chelsea or City this season when you look at the squads the 3 teams have. Hopefully Fellaini will hit the ground running and it might pep things up a bit. I think we should stick Phil Jones in midfield more often although Carrick is our best central midfielder by a mile.

Anyway, I'm getting impatient... 12 new flavours to try and I'm giving them the full week so cant touch them until monday :(

Oh you will need plenty of patience if you buy anything from fasttech mate. one of my orders arrived in the uk on the 28/08, another on the 02/09. (still not got em) But to be fair, it is not there fault ; it is either customs or royal mail.
