What you need to know is what "type" of flavor. For example, complex flavors and in general tobacco flavors taste better with steeping, while fruitier ones rarely do. As for opening the lids, in my own experience it can be tricky; some of my flavors lost the delicate flavor "hints" that they had before i left the lids off for too long. The only time i take the lids off now is if the juice has a kind of artificial, "prefumy" undertone to it, especially on the exhale, that gives me a headache. Usually that tone goes away after 1 night with the lid and dropper cap off, on top of the heater to make it warm and accelerate the evaporation process.

Usually it will tell you on the website or maybe on the invoice the best way to steep their liquid.

Some just say to shake and tastes best in a week or two. One supplier directed to leave the cap off overnight and since it in the winter, to let it reach room temp. before vaping.

A very common thing for beginning vapers is their taste buds go on the fritz for a period of time and juices start tasting really bland. Dont freak out, wait a few days and vape again. You may be surprised.

Yeah i have that vaping tongue for the past 3-4 days :[ so it could be that also.

Where the lion roars..
I ruined 10+ juices because i freaked out about not tasting anything and tried to tweak them. Just didnt want any poor souls to suffer the same fate :D

So your advice would be to leave them be and try again in a few days?

It's happening to me as well, all the juices lack punch in the flavor.. Sort of like the flavor is not really coming thru anymore

Essentially, yes. A very distinct symptom of the "vaped tongue" is your juice starts tasting "watery". My theory is that the nicotine numbs your tongue initially.

sorry i didn't check back after posting, yeah i meant like what types of flavors because that is typically the determining factor for me. i generally let my thinner clear fruit or citrus flavors go overnight - 72 hours cap off dark cool dry place (my vape tackle box) thicker darker savory or dessert vapes i let go dripper off cap loosened for 48hrs - 5 days dripping every day at least once so i can tell when the flavors balance and lastly i drip tobacco flavors right out of the mail and determine if they need to steep (mellow in the case of tobacco flavors, as i feel like tobacco flavors mellow with steeping and fruit/candy flavors seem to intensify or meld together) generally at least 3-4 days sometimes longer cap loose dripper off dark cool place

Interesting.. What exactly is a vaped tongue?

Also, the juices I have are 0mg nic.. So I doubt it's the nicotine screwing them taste buds up..

vaper's tongue is when 1) you are quitting the analogs and your taste buds are coming back and being overwhelmed by all the new sensations. So your brain shuts down your taste buds. 2) you are dehydrated from vaping to much as vapor absorbs water out of the air, so your tongue might be too dried causing a film to elope your tongue and is creating a barrier between your taste buds and the flavor. 3) it could be your vaping the same juice/flavor for too long and your brain considers sort of like a "white noise" and just blocking it out.

I had the same question initially and someone pointed me to an article regarding it. Maybe you can search for it as i can not find it.
