So is the time i've been steeping with the lids on wasted?

not necessarily, you notice it change flavor or color?

it just condenses mellows evaporates whatever change it is gonna go through faster with lid off or lid loosened in a cool dark place.

but there is definitely a change happening to your liquid even with the lid on especially the color after exposure to light

The first day I vaped, I thought the flavour was being over rated by you guys on this forum, because I could barely taste a thing. A week later, yeah it was my smokers taste buds because now I notice that my vape is yummy! i am going to retry all my flavour samples that I didn't like again in a week, I figure they will have had a couple weeks to steep and my taste buds will have had 2 weeks to heal. I am hoping I will like them because it seems like such a waste to not use all the e juice I have paid for.

Too much VG: VG is very thick and can mask flavors. I like my PG/VG ratio at 70/30. Crank your voltage up a bit if you want, sometimes that helps the flavor.

This is a good point here. I use straight VG because I am sensitive to PG. The juice I'm using nowstarted out as a VERY strong mix. 400% flavor. Now after 2 days it has lost 50% taste. I'm starting to believe I have developed VT. I haven't read the article on VT yet. But I'm guessing I should switch flavor for a while. I don't want to. I like it too much. Just drop a safe on my head and kill me now.

Not really. Everyone pretty much develops their own steeping routine. Generally I drip test all of my liquids to see if they need to steep. Normally, if I feel they need to steep, I will put them in the cabinet with the lids attached. Sometimes with complex flavors, I remove the lids, squeeze the bottles until the liquid comes up to the top, draw in fresh air, and reapply the lids once or twice in the first week. (Of course, that does not work for the rare glass bottle I get lol) The only time I leave the lids off is if I detect a perfume, chemical, or alcohol taste. Then I will leave the lids off for a day or two before resealing. I try to retest every week or so with a drip atty, but I don't always get to it.
