If there is alcohol in the flavoring it could cause cloudiness. If this is the case, flavoring should be stirred in slowly. The cloudiness caused by alcohol is safe and purely aesthetic.

thanks for the tip...
I guess I could check Flavour Art's website and see what they have to say about their Black Cherry flavour as in if there's alcohol in their formula worth confirming...

I still wasn't clear enough in providing original details... my base nic is 50mg... I cut it down to 12mg to vape...

I'm coming off a 45 year habit which worked it way up to almost 2 packs a day. I still have a hard time believing I haven't had a reg cig for almost 3 weeks... for me this is incredible and I'm thankful...

most of the ejuices I've bought have been crystal clear in nature... I never ran across any when buying in a store that were clouded...
for the next batch I'll use glass containers in the UC... I was skeptical about using plastic but I did see a lot of people have used it throughout the thread with good results... I did have a lid on the container so nothing extraneous got in like some form of condensation, or contamination...

I'm new to DIY... this is one of the first batches I've created from my raw stocks of ingredients...

I'm right there with you, jkajfes. 43 years 1.5 PAD and after 5 months I'm still amazed. Congratulations to you!

The cloudiness may be an issue of flavoring not solvating completely and I've found that alcohol can contribute to this in some flavors. Not to say that this is the issue with yours. Just a possibility. Try mixing another small sample batch and see if you get the same results.

I also always use glass. Best place to purchase is here: http://packagingoptionsdirect.com
but because of shipping costs if I only need a dozen I get them from Amazon.

One of my mint/menthol recipes uses peppermint extract containing alcohol...it clouds up when mixing but overnight it clears up to crystal clear. Alcohol may not be the only factor but if it does clear up after sitting 12-24 hours then it may well be it. In any event, cloudiness does not necessarily indicate a problem, it may just be just a character of that particular mix.

I purchased a Black Hills UC that has 30min cycle with heat and yes it does work... cuts my custard mix down to 2-3 days instead of a week and a half to 2 weeks for good flavor.

On Amazon.com Amazon.com: BlackHillsGoldSource Model 890 Professional Ultrasonic Cleaner - 30 Minute Timer - Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner, Eyeglass Cleaner, Dentures Cleaner and Other Household Sonic Cleaning - 600ml, 50 Watt, 42khz - Digital Timer with 18 Cycles to.

What the description does not tell you is that the 30min cycle is heated and works absolutely GREAT! IMHO!

Make it! Vape it!

Its not heated, the heat you experience is from the reaction of the Ultrasonic waves.

jesseseetai glass is what works best, I'm guess you haven't read the thread.

ok thanks guys... and Disco i've ready a lot of the thread, but don't have time to go through all 155 pages haha.

one other question (and sorry if this has been covered as well), how does the UC method compare to the CrockPot method? thanks everyone

We did a test on this, and a heated UC (150 degrees) came out slightly ahead of a crockpot at the same temperature. However, to my taste there was so little in it I wouldn't buy a UC if you don't have one. I have both, but I still use the crockpot because I can leave it alone for 4 hours and not have to punch a button on the UC every 8 minutes!

That, is exactly what this entire thread is all about...

I bought a ultrasonic cleaner, the jpl7010, yesterday. I use 10ml plastic bottles for this. I steeped it in there for at least an hour or maybe 2. I did it so many times I lost count. I left it overnight in a dark cupboard. I haven't seen any change in colour.

I put it in the cleaner today for an hour. I just checked it out while it was doing it's thing. In the bottle, there seems to be nothing happening. I see in youtube videos, when someone puts a large bottle inside the UC, there are lots of bubbles in the bottle. But in my one, there is nothing.

Try glass instead of plastic...I think you will find that glass works better!

I have done lotsof uc. my final atempt to affect a change in the eliquid was using 20mlk bottle so there was more air in them.
So far i do remain unconvinced about the usefulness of u/c. there has been a slight reduction in the astringency of some liquids, and a slight enhancement of any creaminess in the flavour.
however, no colour change so far and the taste aspect cld be down to any number of factors, ie my taste buds, their state and their rate of improvement!
my unscientific conclusion so far is heating with rice/ water with occasional o2 replacement then leaving caps on might be better

Google the UC aluminum foil test to check your unit.

Sticking a piece of the foil in the water should "pit" the aluminum foil - in short order.

Mine takes about a minute to see pitting, and in three minutes, I see holes in the foil.

I just did the test, where there were bending or curves in the foil, holes started appearing. One one corner where there was a slight tear, it started ripping off . So I guess it is somewhat effective. I'm still laying the eliquid on top of the plastic basket which has direct contact with the bottom of the unit. Should I work on getting that out of contact with the bottom?

I would say the UC is functioning well.

Several pages back in this thread, you will see the details of a blind test conducted in a very controlled manner comparing UC and crockpot, steeping. Look it. One guy carefully prepared the test and the blind test samples and shipped them to 3 forum members - Alabama, New Jersey, and California. We received 3 bottles. UC, CP, and control (no steeping). The bottles were labeled as A B & C, so we did not know which was which... It was easy to identify the control bottle... The other 2 were a little harder.

All 3 of us picked the UC as the "best". Two of us samplers also sent them on to another forum member for further sampling. Again, the UC was picked as the best.

Mix yourself another small batch and UC half and leave half alone. 4 hours of UC (or CP) makes a difference. It might not make your juice perfect, but you will see a difference.

I suggest reading that area of this thread...
