Monday evening it will be.

I agree on the bias thing, thats why it is hard for me to do it by myself. I "know" which method I used on what, and I sense a predisposition in myself towards the UC simply because I paid big bucks for it. Hard to be objective, when the judgements are subjective!

Heard-that!

I had just purchased the large one at Harbor Freight ($70.00) when This thread became quite active. Each day I did not open it as I waited on the final conclusion from the thread. That "wait" continues. I am sitting here looking at a brand new - unboxed - UC that has been paid for for a month...

I can wait until Monday. I'm probably going to keep it either way - It's paid for...

My cupboard is free and doesn't use electricity. Sorry I couldn't help myself  . I've been thinking since one is labelled control and people have a predisposition to think heat steeping is better. You know no one is going to say the control is better. Seems like having something like my kfl+ with the stainless tank (so you can't see how light or dark the juice is) and doing blind tests would be best. Just thinking out loud here, don't mind me.

Cheers,
Steve

Thats certainly doable with the samples I provided. Even if it is clear tanks, cover them with a sleeve of some sort. Have someone else fill them and then the samplers taste them.

in terms of bias, I had bf put blue tape over the labels and inscribe new letters, so the whole thing was blind to me until afterwards. Once I inhaled, it was obvious which one was the CS.

If anyone is interested, I can send my samples to another person for more input if anyone else is interested. Granted, they will have time steeped a bit more, but A and B still have more steepage (new word).

Please let me know if anyone is interested. Mike P made huge samples, so I can divvy them up into 2 more 5 ml samples.

Great idea RP - sharing... I do hereby act as a copy cat and make the same offer!

I have "plenty".

Following Mike's experiments re: heat as a speed steeping factor I was inspired to fool around myself.

I use this UC:

UC_ecf.jpg

http://www.harborfreight.com/25-liter-ultrasonic-cleaner-95563.html

It wasn't the priciest unit around ($75 plus shipping), and it wasn't a tremendous upgrade from my 3 minute model, but it did the trick. It chews up aluminum foil really fast so I know something's going on. But it doesn't make the water in the tank hot.

I ran it for 2 hours this morning and it barely got above 102 degrees. And that's with the heat option "on." Before I used a UC for steeping I tried using just a warm water routine and after a day of that it didn't seem to knock off steeping time at all.

For my simple tobacco juices 4 - 5 hours in the UC in warm water started in the morning gives me wonderful vapes that night. Before I added VG to the mix I only had to run it 3 - 4 hours.

I can't wait for Mike's "unveiling" Monday night.

Bobalex -

That's the same one I have sitting brand new in it's box for the last month while waiting for this thread to continue.

I'm most tempted to set it up - before the results are announced. Even if it is the source for Sample "A", it still does a good job. There is a difference between "A" & "B", but they are so close (to me).

Hey rowdyplace,

What flavors do you vape? I'm an all tobacco - all the time guy.

Mostly TFA's "Cowboy" now called "Western". I make a few fruity ones for friends that I use for a day or two.

I am liking this stuff MikeP brewed up for the test. Except, I am a 1.2% or less nic kind of guy. This is 2.4%, so I get a little buzzzzz as I participate in this scientific endeavor...

But, somebody has to do it... (LOL)

I have the same one - now neglected, because I find (for my tastes) a crockpot gives slightly better results - and I don't have to press the button every 8 minutes! But I need to check the temp in mine - I'm positive it gets hotter than 102, because I have to watch I don't burn my fingers, but I may be mistaken. I always carefully check the crockpot temp and can keep it at 150, but I never did measure the temp in the UC.

May I take you up on that? Please?

I really am curious to the point of no return. I'll pay for shipping of course. PayPal should do the trick.

Thank you kindly.

Cheers.
