what is all involved in steeping is there things you do besides letting it sit for some time

There are all kinds of opinions on this topic. Some people skulk down to the basement with the lights out, take the lids off the containers of e-juice and perform black magic. Then they return a month later and hope for the best.
Whenever I get new juice, I always drip some right away. Then, I put it in the "warehouse" (bathroom closet) and wait about a week or two. This is usually not a problem since I have about 25-30 bottles in rotation. Then, one is advised to go and shake the bottles (I do not remove the lids) daily. That's about it. Also, remember to shake the bottle vigorously before every use. There are also "quick" methods, like double-bagging the bottle in plastic bags and running them under warm water for a while.

When I get new juice, I generally let it sit out overnight with the cap off. The next day, I put the cap back on, shake it a bit, and place it somewhere dark an additional day.
Depending on the juice, more time may be required though.

I found just having a bunch of juice let's it steep without doing anything. By the time I get into my new juice, it's been in the cupboard at least a couple weeks.
I typically try new juice when i get it, if it needs to steep then I shake it well then take the cap off for 24 hours. After that I just put the cap back on and shake it every day or two for a week or so. Once it tastes good I put it in rotation.
Just for good measure, when I get a new batch of juice in the mail I let them sit 24 hours or so with the lids off, and then they go into my juice box. By the time I get to them they have steeped whether they needed it or not lol.
My batteries work fine, my toppers work fine. So all i have spent money on lately is juice.... man I got a lot of juice lolol

i leave the cap off over night... then let it sit untill i get to it.. usually a day or 2.. it seems to be smoother if i vape it the very next morning after having the cap off all night.. more flavor also.. maybe ill just try taking the cap off for a few hours before each refill... its worth a shot..
Here's what I usually do with a new flavor. Try it right outta the mail to get a baseline. Cap and drip top off overnight in a cabinet(this gets any alcohol or perfume smell out). Drip top and cap back on. Shake vigorously for bout a minute. For the next week I usually get the bottle out of the cabinet and shake morning, after work, and before bed. Try it in a week...if I like it I vape. If not, repeat the first week of shaking.
Regular rotation flavors....sit for at least 3 weeks in back stock so I don't do anything for em except shake a handful of times the first week.

I usually buy lots of flavors at a time and I add them to my "collection", by the time I remember I had gotten a flavor

I would be a little weary of bottles that have been made that long ago, I try to buy from vendors that make them when you order, but it might just be personal preference. unclear.

In another thread I mentioned I had to buy juice from a gas station earlier cause I cant wait till Tuesday for the mail.
There are shops in the area but the one I like is an hour away.
Dont have a stockpile yet.

totally an acceptable reason haha. I would go ahead and vape it since it's already been steeping for 6 months lol. I think it's time to stock pile. As a rule of thumb I tend to have at least 30ml of some kind of juice laying around at all times. Good luck!

Steeping is absolutely necessary for DIY juices only.
Everything else, IMHO, is totally vapable straight out of the box. If it's a NET, or a particularly fresh, made to order juice, or if tastes nasty, stick it in a dark place and give it a week or two. It may get better, it may get worse.
Take off the cap and let it air out only if you smell something really bad--strong alcohol, perfume, chemical smell; hopefully most of those volatile compounds will evaporate overnight. But that is not steeping. Steeping is letting the flavor molecules slowly dissolve in the diluent.
Vape and enjoy.
