Steeping with a power drill? (centrifugal force to decrease steeping time)

Anyone who wants/can test this out to see if it has any effect?

This reminded me of this video, it's a guy who hyper aerate or hyper decant the wine to increase flavour



If this works, it could be an extremely efficient way to steep e-liquid. Anyone who can think of pro/cons and test it out?

I don't think a power drill is anywhere near the speeds of seperating the liquids. Rip Tripper advocates giving the e-liquid a shake, and this would be taking that to the extreme. I think it would just aerate it a lot faster. Even if it seperated the liquids it they would combine again by a light shake. If it's the shaking that helps the steep, then this should decrease the steep time and/or increase the flavour.

When I did it I moved te drill in a back and forward motion . Thy seemed to help . Next I'm gonna try a zal-saw I think that will wrk better . I have tried this out on a couple juices with he drill and noticed improvement but again I think moving back and forward will drilling helps it njust the drilling centrifugal movement .

You're on the right path with the reciprocating saw, since it would be moving it in a back and forward motion, like you would by shaking it. On the drill, it's going on 1 direction only, even when reversing the direction, it's excerting the force in one direction at a time, forcing the heavier particles to the bottom of the bottle, vs breaking them down and creating air bubles when shaking.

i used a titrator when i worked in a QC lab a while back and think it would be excellent to speed steep. there is a ceramic coated magnet placed inside liquid. your beaker is placed on the deck which has a magnet spinning under the top plate. i think it would remove any alcohol or perfume-like notes in 5-10 minutes. i didn`t even listen to the audio from this video but watch the video and you will see how well it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XymQ52Np38

wish I still ad a rock tumbler. I'd cut some plexy to fit and drill out holes to fit the dif, bottle sizes and a solid one to hold them in. using a piece of all thread and nuts to space them and hold the top in place let it tumble for 2 or 3 days.

Centrifugal force won't work - all it will do is separate the liquid into layers of different viscosity.

Sawz all? Kinda overkill. Somewhere out there on the internets are instructions for modding an electric kitchen knife - an item you can find in just about any second hand store for a couple bucks - to create the same kind of shaker. (You remove the stationary blade and leave the jiggly one.) I think they were using it to shake hobby paints in those small bottles.

The good thing about rock tumblers is they are designed for continuous duty. Might not be the supersonic times people want, but you can just turn it on, walk away, and not have to futz with it like intermittent duty devices.

Things I have considered:

Continuous duty 45 RPM motor thingum with a big platform to play with: 3-12VDC GEAR MOTOR W/PULLEY
Big mounting area on that attached pulley.

Get jiggy with a wiper motor?: 12VDC WIPER LAMP ASSEMBLY
Not so sure about that one - see info at site.

Yeah what your looking for is a vibrator, that's what the pros use, if you can put a tub of hot water on it with bottles in hot water being vibrated your on your way.

I wonder if the self made rotary shelac mixer i see this guy making will do the job or is that still considered one direction. You'd need alot of juice though.

I just mix my juices Bain-Marie, really helps on emulsifying juice and speeding up the flavor development. Usually do this twice before storing into bottles. Works for me. lol
