Not a master mixer but I'm nervous to do any kind of heat steeping or such as I don't want to degrade my nic. I give it a good shake and put in a box to keep under my cabinet, take it out to shake every few days and might try some of my least complex flavors. Some are okay after a few days, some are just not there yet. A lot of my milky ones I don't even bother for 2 weeks. Right now I have plenty of mixes that are ready that I won't even look at my steeping box for another couple weeks but in the beginning I mixed easy fruit juices that didn't require a lot of steeping so that I had something to vape while I waited. One of my favorites on ELR that doesn't require more than a night to sit and good the next day is called Birthday cake if you are into cakey type vapes. In short, I haven't found anything I'm willing to try aside from time.

Thx. I guess there is a down side to heat steeping.. but it could prove usefull to me though in some aspects of course time steeping would be best... never the less i think i may need to use the quicker proccess ocasionally... do you know how it goes maybe? Any thing aside from putting it in warm water?
Thx

I really don't. I hear of people putting it in the microwave for a few seconds, to crockpot steeping. Hopefully there are some other DIY juice makers here that have some good tips for you. I know hit is hard to be patient when there is a juice you are anxious to try. I'm waiting on some fruits so I'm thinking I won't have to wait very long for those, but my bakery flavors are what I really love. I have 2 boxes. One for my just made that are steeping and then one for my ready juices. It's hard to keep out of the steeping box where there is a flavor I'm anxious to try. Lol My daughter is more anxious than I am. I often find a steeping bottle with an obvious tank or 2 missing when I pull it out.

I tried a heat steep the other day. Heated water in a slow cooker and watched the temperature with a probe thermometer. Sat the bottle of juice in there for an hour.

The flavor was really good, but then it got peppery as the nicotine degraded. I steeped at 140 degrees and have since been told that this is too hot. Next trial will be at 120 degrees.

I think heat is probably good as a general principle but you have to be real careful not to degrade the nic. I'm also thinking about heating just the flavoring with PG/VG and then coming back and adding the nic afterward.

What we do know is that time works. I'm not a patient person so I'm hoping to get consistent results with heat, but I'm not ready to say it's a sure thing yet.

I rarely heat steep and when I do it's minor, just to get something going.

Everyone has their own steeping methods, but many just use time once they have a steeping schedule going, it kind of makes waiting easier.

By all means experiment, just do it in small, tester sized bottles probably, and see what you get out of various methods, and keep notes.

Best of luck,

Anna

Birthday cake in a day?:w00t: There are so many with this name on ELR. Happen to know the mixers name?

I haven’t done a lot of heat steeping trials... okay, I’ve done one:laugh: Personally, I didn’t find a noticeable difference I was happy with. However, I love all things my aged mixes delivers. IMO, there’s no replacement for good old fashioned, clock clicking by time aged ejuice. That being said, there are options you could try such as ultrasonic scrubbers and other heat baths. I’d recommend researching and focusing on getting a handle on your mixing skills first and then research types and ways to give your new mixes heat baths, etc. please don’t feel I’m trying to tell you what to do as this is only a suggestion. I just know what works for me and obviously, we’re all different. I’ve seen youtube videos on comparisons of each, both time steeped and ultrasonic. That might be a good place to check. One thing I know for certain, everyone has their own opinion concerning this topic. Soon, you'll come to your own conclusion as we all do:)

Order a battery powered stirrer. The one above is $8. The metal tip that looks like a buzz saw is the one I use to froth my ejuices. Do it once a day for a few days and let it sit for a week. Actually, my juices are vapable 2 or 3 days after mixing and even better after a couple of weeks. Frothing just mixes the ingredients more completely and turns it into a milk shake consistency that clears up in a few minutes as the bubbles rise and break. Flavor develops faster as a result. You still get even better flavor over time after frothing.
