I am sorry, I thought I had updated here yesterday.
I was there this time when they backed the volume down on the respirator to try to get him to breathe on his own.
They brought him up out of sedation for this, we had some hand squeezing time & I had to tell him again why he was there and to not worry about things.
Big mistake, not a pleasant thing to watch someone go through.
They are probably going to do a tracheostomy some time tomorrow. They need to get him off the ventilator or it will cause more troubles for him.
It's a good sign that they are thinking ahead.
He has one nurse (Lynda) that is priceless and speaks comfortable.
She said sometimes this can take 4 to 5 to 6 weeks to get straightened out...
1 1/2 down...
