It seems his oxygen levels are low even on the ventilator and his heart rate drops. They are not removing the tube this morning. They took another xray and there appears to be something that they want to go in and look at. They will do it with a bronchoscopy and maybe remove what ever it is they think they see.
This is scheduled for sometime around noon.
Thank you all for being here for me.
Thank you for the update Classy. I hope they can easily remove what ever it is that they see on the xray and that Steve starts regaining his strength quickly.
I'm so sorry that you both have to go through this. I'm keeping you in my thoughts.
I just saw this thread Classy and I am adding my prayers for a quick recovery. Sending positive vibes your way to both of you. I know that you have to be exhausted by now, mentally and physically. If you need ANYTHING, I am only a few hours away and I am off work until next Tuesday. Do not hesitate to ask. Please get some rest. You may not sleep, but try to rest.
Please call with whatever you may need Cindy. I know how you feel right now..the Nurses walked me through every procedure and treatment..they were Angels to us both. try to rely on the Nursing staff to keep you informed night and day.
Sending love and prayers to you and Steve.
Thank you...
The nurses there are wonderful. They even keep him clean and his hair combed, and I think someone trimmed his fingernails.
The bronchoscopy allowed a small piece of blockage to be removed, and a lot more fluid. He now has a vacuum tube in there too.
Tomorrow they will try weaning him off the ventilator instead of just removing it.
He came to a little today and was crying...it was horrible.
Aw, I am sorry he was so distressed when he came to. I am glad you have such great, caring nurses around him. And that they were able to remove the blockage and fluid. Still praying for you both, thank you for the update!
Hugs Classy.....I feel so for you both....It sounds like that it is looking a little more positive....I am so glad that he has such caring nurses. That has to be a comfort to you. Continued prayers for you both and Steve's medical team.
