So good to hear that Steve is breathing on his own. Not sure in regards to the vacuum pump if he is still having fluid build-up; will continue to pray that it stops soon. Lots of hugs for you both and prayers for you, Steve and his medical team....
Lots of big fast changes today.
Respirator still off. They did swallowing & talking tests, got him to swallow & taught him to talk with trach in. Let him have some liquid food (by mouth)
and made him sit in a chair for a while !

Oh Classy, that all sounds like great steps in the right direction! Also sounds like a very tiring day for both of you. Hugs!
I think it's because it's Monday. In hospitals weekends tend to be "emergency only." Now that the full staff is back things should start moving quickly. I'm glad there's been so much movement in the right direction.
