Is yours is sticking on? Mine switches off randomly...

My NEW Version Black Manual Passthru shuts off on me sometimes.
I'm holding the button down, and then 1-2 secs later it just shuts off, and I got to press the button again.
Doesn't do it often, but it does it now and then...
Its not aggravating me enough to care yet, I just got to hit the button again to fix it.
Whats the warranty on these new manual Passthrus?

I got 2 of the new manual PTs. Both of the buttons act differently. On one I have to press the button on a certain side, or it won't work. It seems like the actual internal switch is mounted just a little off. On the other I really have to mash the button down or it won't work either.

I've only used them a couple times, so if this thread is alive in a week or so, I'll give an update if they break in a bit.

The solid black PT is the new style, and the black full logo is the old style.

The older style's button is extended out fully. The newer style's button has has some downward play before the button engages the switch.

I have another new PT but I do not know what the button is like on it. My father took it with him in my truck. When he returns I'll try to grab a pic of it's button.

I have the new one too. I haven't had any button issues that I've noticed, but I'll pay closer attention and try to be pickier! :) I do have one carto it doesn't seem to like for some reason. Works fine on the batts, but nothing on the passthru. No biggie though. I used the passtrhu this morning on the way to work - my car has a USB port in the dash - It was awesome, and Cappuccino is a great drive-to-work-in-the-morning vape, especially at 5V! :D

i have another of the new one's still in the package, that i haven't tried yet. i'd say the one i have tried sticks on about every 3rd vape. which is annoying, but i still think the overall product is a VAST improvement over the old style PT. i resisted the urge to tape/glue/threaten the wire so it wouldn't come loose, to see if it really is sturdier and no issues thus far. unfortunately i think it's made me even more addicted to 5V vaping, so if the VK1 doesn't come out soon/isn't 5V i may have to invest in a mod, or a portable power pack.

so, after paying close attention all day, i'm not sure... it's not so much that it's sticking on, as turning off... slowly? it keeps 'sizzling' for a couple seconds after releasing the button, and gradually stops, i'd say in <5 seconds usually. does the mechanism that 'turns it off' work differently, maybe? i'm wondering if what i'm observing isn't a malfunction at all.

Okay, been paying close attention to how mine is behaving to hopefully help out here. No button issues whatsoever. In my car, it was acting funny for a while, several times, I got no vape upon pushing the button, and I was wondering if it was sticking. My theory on the drive was something about the shutoff too, because if I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it would work. Then I got home and tried it on my computer and on an AC to USB adaptor, and no problems at all on either.

That leads me to believe that problem I was having in the car is, in fact a voltage problem from my USB port and not the PT itself.

Belletrist, this may be a dumb question, but does the sizzle happen on all your carts? And is this a newly filled cart or one that's been in use? Reason I ask is that on my PTs (new model AND old model) if I have a freshly filled cart that is just a tad overfilled, I will hear the 'after sizzle' on the first few drags as (I guess) excess liquid is getting burned away, but it rectifies itself pretty quickly. (and you're welcome - I'm LOVING the blog!)

that's a good question. because i use my pt for dripping/topping off while i'm working. so i've had the same cart on it for about 2 days. hmm. tomorrow i'll put a new prefilled on it and see if it repeats. if not, it might be my method. thing is, the old PT didn't do that--but if this is vaping hotter for some reason, it might just be that the after-sizzle (technical term :p ) is louder/more noticable to me.

It might (or of course might not!) be worth looking into. FWIW, I do notice that my new PT is a little 'hotter' than my old style even though technically they should both be operating at 5V. Could just be my particular unit though, but I tried a 'dripping cart' on both just now and the after-sizzle (I should TM that term!) is there on the new, but not on the old. Lasts about 2-3 seconds.

Isn't learning fun?

just tried a new prefilled cart on both, and no after-sizzle on either PT....
