Hello. :) It's been awhile since I've posted here. I'm posting here for a couple of reasons: one, I'm extremely frustrated with the lifespan of my PT's, and two, I'd like to know how long yours last. If I'm expecting too much, I'd like to know that.

I've been vaping for a few years, so I'm not someone who doesn't understand how to use these things properly. I'm very gentle with them because, almost without fail, they stop working within a matter of weeks. The longest-lasting PT I've had lasted 2 months. I'd be thrilled if they all made it to 2 months, but that is not the case. I just opened a brand-new one last night because the old one stopped working (been using it not quite a month). The button was a little stiffer than normal. Well, less than 24 hours later, the button is not activating it. Now I have no PT at all, and I thought I'd at least be safe for another 3 weeks. I'm to the point where I'm wondering if I need to look elsewhere for PT's that work with cartomizers (not asking for recs because this IS the V4L forum lol) because this is getting ridiculous. I have pretty good luck with the cartos, great luck with the batteries, and terrible luck with the PT's. I'm at a loss here.

Now let me say that when I let V4L know, they are very, very prompt about sending replacements out. I'm extremely happy with their customer service, but I'm getting tired of either asking for replacements, or feeling so ridiculous about needing yet another replacement that I don't bother and just order more. I'm always either waiting for a free replacement or waiting for a paid replacement. I save all my bad ones because once in awhile they'll come back to life for an hour or so, so I save them for emergencies.

Anyway, if I could get some feedback on a realistic lifespan for these things, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

I wish had some insight for you....I have my original Autos one is about 16 months old and sees daily use. Then I have one in my car that is about 12 months old and see occasional use. Do your PT's always get connected to the same USB Port on your computer or possibly a wall wart usb port? If it is, say....you always plug it into your computer USB port, you might want to give a Slim USB wall wart a shot.

I'm not the most knowledgable person here on the forums, but the first thing I would ask is, what are you plugging them into? I'm just thinking that if they aren't getting enough current/are getting to much then that could be causing some of your problems. Or is it always the button?

I'm plugging them into either the V4L car adapter or the USB port on my laptop. I just ordered another 2 PT's today, as well as a wall adapter. I'm not sure what else to try. I'm not sure if the button itself stops working or something else. It just stops working...

You mentioned button, so I'm assuming all are manuals....

If you could isolate the location of the failure, that would probably help a lot in determining what leads to failure. Do you have a multimeter or voltmeter? The PTs look pretty easy to disect (at least the one I have does). Maybe you could at the very least pull out the cable from the body as much as possible, snip the wires and check voltages to eliminate the cable itself developing a short or something? (perhaps the cable gets pinched or flexed from some habitual movement or placement, or the USB plug gets messed up from being moved around.) Maybe just by disecting it you can see if a solder connection has failed? Not sure how to remove the button to see if it is worn though.
