I know, I know its been a while. I started something of an internship for learning pastel painting. No worries, my airbrushes aren't collecting dust.

I am the proud new pappy of a white on white Reo Grande. Pretty much in vaping coma right now. Man its a beast! I chose white so I can start on the door. I'll keep ya updated.

Redeye, I know you like to keep your forum here clean but plz keep this thread open for me. I need to work through the details to perfect it and it might take me a few tries and attempts... or I might be over thinking it and be done in a day :). Just wanna make sure I have one place to put my news so I don't fill ya up here.

ok sorry for the delay... people like art and I like to make it for them! Had a small jump in business, settled down now so here we go. This is my personal reo grande door in white. I smoothed it down and sprayed in a sealer white. I then sprayed on a silver base coat then mottled in red, magenta and blue candies with sealer in between. Lastly was a 70's looking florish with hard edges on the bottom and soft on the top in sealer black. I know this particular design is not everyone cup of tea but I love it and this is my pv. I can do anything you want Rob :). over this I put a rattle can clear coat mixing warm and cool temps to get it to mimic the enamel texture on the rest of the reo so it feels completely the same in hand.

Thanks Drifter and Honigschmidt.. my poor photo skillz didn't bring out the highlights around the screw heads or the flourish's, or the final magenta that you can see on bits of the black. It's also a lot bluer in person too because I put a lot of blue candy over all. Blue and white are a good combo. Think I will buy a few more doors next month and do some geometric shapes too so I can switch em out.

I've heard people say that REOs look like walkie talkies. Perhaps it would be beast to paint one up with buttons and speaker grille to resemble one? Or like an iPod?

As for walkie talkies, I much prefer to be mistakingly thought to be talking to someone on a walkie talkie than to be seen as buffing the helmet of a steaming tubular device.

ok sanded it down and did a new one. Painted the door black then sprayed on some over reduced silver flake. I added some burnt orange to the silver and sprayed that, then I added some magenta to the silver/burnt orange and sprayed that, about 5 minutes apart. A good buddy said it looks like a Scottish Tarton. It's been cleared and I think I am keeping this one, I really like it.

That looks really awesome. It is an old school speaker grille look?
