Hi again. I still can't inhale hardly any of the vapor from my 801 without coughing like crazy. It hurts...reminds me of smoking bad weed back in the day. I also get just a tiny hint of flavor. As some suggested, I dripped the atomizer, and puffed away without even trying to inhale to break it in until the battery died. I read here where there are extra flavor juices, so I will try that. Is the 801 too much vapor for me or do I possiblyhave bad juice? It is 18 mg. I am a fairly heavy smoker of Marlboro Menthol ultra lights. If I need to buy another type of ecig, I will because I really want to do this.

Well, PG - the base liquid used for the juice - is an irritant and does dry you out. You could try VG based juice.

You also might be getting the atty way too hot - if you can't really hold the atty in your hand then let it cool a bit. Take a slow, even draw until the cutoff.

You could also try other brands of juice that give more vapor and less throat hit.

Just a few thoughts that came to mind.

There is nothing wrong with your 801 setup. You may be one of the folks that just cannot adjust to vapor. I wish that were not the case, but e-liquid does not include any chemicals (like tobacco cigarettes) to reduce throat discomfort you may be feeling when vaping.

To combat throat discomfort and coughing, drink plenty of liquids and consider using a lower nicotine content liquid. If you have a liquid that is uncomfortable to you, try diluting the liquid with some glycerine and distilled water. The dilution will reduce the nicotine content - thus reducing throat discomfort.

there could be many reasons.. might be that pg is giving you a bad reaction.. could be the nic level.. could be the flavoring. so easy cheap way to figure out what is causeing the problem is to first clean your atty.. rinse it under hot water..

go pick up some vg and some pg.. put a few drips of pg in the atty and try to inhale.. do the same with the vg.. if the vg is not as harsh then order some 18mg unflavored liquid. see how that does.. then try out flavors..

mint flavors are harsh for me.. i had to cut the one i bought down and add chocolate to it to mellow it out so i could inhale it..

Good advice, but...

If you rinse your atomizer in water, make sure it dries for 24 hours before trying to use it again.
And then put many drops in and let them soak in, since your atomizer is completely empty now.
Otherwise you may think it is dead when it really isn't.

But if you want to get it back into service quickly, then do this:
Put it in the oven for 20 minutes at 150 degrees.
