Im really disapointed in my 901 so far..
The burnt taste has come back this is with different carts and 2 attys..

I let my attys drain on paper kitchen towl overnight
Even cleaned them with builing water
I makesure the carts are filled so they are mushy on top and drop 1 or two drops on the atomiser and its still happening.

The taste is that bad it has before made me throw up violently when it first happened..

i'm seriously considering trying a different model. I spent more time pissing about with my 901 than vapeing.
My girlfriends 901 seems to taste weird too.

well the cart/atty system is a horrible system that's why everyone has moved on to cartos, AND YES I know there are still some people out there who love carts lol. The burning taste you are getting is not from the cart unless you see the polly fill is burnt. The burning taste you are getting is from the atty. Under the bridge there is a wick. if this wick doesn't stay wet with juice feed to it from the cart it will burn and that's were you are getting the burning taste from. You can de-wick it if you want, but with no wick you will not be able to use carts anymore, and will only be able to drip with that atty. phee303 does some GREAT dewicking and bebridging videos on youtube if you want to look into that.

After giving the attys another good clean, I decied to try dripping its OK for the firtst few pufs if not a bit bland in flavour still but then I can taste somthing thats not natural.

It hard to describe. but the best way I can describe it is..

The small you get when somthing electronic burns out, imagine that small as a taste.

Very tempted to try a 510 model

Yes, that is the smell of a burnt atty. I think once you get that smell/taste it is darn near impossible to get it out of the atty.

All it takes is running it too dry one time. Toss them and get some new attys, or better yet, try the 510.

The first filling is the most critical for attys and even cartomizers. Blow the primer fluid out of the atty into a tissue. Drop at least 4 drops of juice directly on to the bridge and let it sit a few minutes. Fill the cart and slip it onto the atty.

Then take a few small "primer" puffs without inhaling to get it going. Once you get a good strong vapor, you are good to go.

And keep 'em wet but not flooded. You should be getting the equivalent of only 3-4 cigs from one filling.

Don't try to stretch it out, at the first hint of flavor or vapor loss, top them off again. Usually will hold about 7-8 drops when refilling.

Good luck.

I agree, 901 seems to need to stay really wet. There are two times I have encountered the burning taste. Once, it was bad liquid. It took a bit of time to get the attys working right again, but soaking in water and then dripping good liquid saved them. The other time was the atty not properly getting liquid to the coil. That was saved by dripping until flooded. The atty eventually wicked fine on it's own.

The burned taste can be taken out of the atty, but it requires both a long soak to clean and then vaping until the atty is working correctly. A defective atty might never be saved, though, as the problem that keeps it from staying wet enough may not be repairable. Good luck to you!
