Been a couple months since ive posted been playing around with the DIY. Im still getting juices that are to scratchy on the throat its kind of annoying!

The mix goes like this

for 10 ml i mix 3.33 ml of 36 mg nic/pg, 5.67 ml VG, 1 ml TPA flavors, and usually add 1 drop of ez sweetz, and have also tried a drop of vinegar to kick the acid up

hot water baths in glass jar
sitting for 3 days before vape....whats going on here???? any advice on why they are scratchy?

You may just be very sensitive to PG. That mix is still just under 50% PG when you count what is in the flavoring and the nic. Maybe you could try nic in VG?

My mom has a similar problem where vaping is making her cough. I am pretty sure it is the PG that is the irritant. I made a batch of juice for her pretty much like yours, and it still makes her cough. I am going to get some nic in VG and try that.

Good luck to you.

ETA- Actually I made hers at 18 mgs even though she needs 36 mgs so hers had a little less PG than yours did.

I kindof am suspecting this to but my wife and all my friends notice it too! I wonder also if it has something to do with the quality of nicotine because when i leave that out i loose all throat hit and scratchy feeling....

MSLS,
I totally agree with LookMa NoSmoK in eliminating the ingredients and starting one at a time. I know this seems harsh but it cost me hundreds of dollars and months to figure that out. I was using a coconut flavor because I love coconut. Well the juice was extremely peppery and I thought it was the nic or a PG allergy. I mixed up so many batches and my husband and I suffered through many months of agony. Finally I just tried straight PG - that was fine. Then added the nic - that was fine. Then added VG - that was fine. Then I added the coconut and I thought OMG! The stupid coconut! So maybe try plain VG for a few hours, then PG for a bit. If those are fine then move on to the next ingredient. In the end I have been completely happy with just a pg/vg/nic mix with a little LorAnns cranberry and a splash of 151 (although not sure if I even notice a difference using the 151 but I crave a big TH that I can never seem to get so I just vape non-stop). Simple but after the months of experiments simple works for me! Good luck and I wish you the best!

I use RTS and feel that their quality is good. Now maybe you are making it too high in nicotine? Nicotine is very much a part of what many call TH (throat hit) but some consider it throat irritation.
