I know that this forum is about quitting smoking, but i smoke an analog every so often.

I love vaping, but i still smoke a cigarette occasionally. I only do it when im out with my friends, and its more of a social matter. On my own time i stick to vaping though.

but is there anyone on this forum like me? who only smokes with friends, maybe once every two weeks?

I'm a medium - social smoker. I smoke outside of my house, especially when I'm out with my motorcycle buddies. Never do I take "smoke breaks" when I am at home or work though.
I JUST started vaping and I'm hating my prefilled carts, so I'm still smoking the analogs while I'm out with my motorcycle buds.

Now, when I get the right juices in the mail tomorrow from FSUSA... I really do expect to only vape... Even if I get weird looks from the smokers ;). I've already gotten my best friend to buy a KR808 -- let's see how many more I can get into the vaping :).

I've always made it a rule to never say I "quit", just so I don't feel like such a failure when I start up again (and after quitting and restarting many times over 22 years, you see why I don't want to be continually "failing"...) but since I started vaping, I haven't touched an analog. I have half a carton in my glovebox, and I haven't touched it in over a month! I haven't thrown it out, either...

I'll just say I'm on a (hopefully) "permanent hiatus" from smoking.:thumb:

I've never really viewed this forum to be about quitting smoking. I've always seen it as a place to find a way to still get nicotine through the familiar habituation of cigarettes while reducing the amount of harm you get from smoking. I don't think there would be a single person in here that would say anything negative about reducing the amount of cigarettes you have. My wife still smokes . . . about half of what she used to, and that's a really good thing!

I started vaping about two months ago and still smoke. I figured I would be completely done by now, but apparently not. However, I am not going to beat myself up about because instead of two packs a day, it's maybe a half a pack or less. I actually only smoked four analogs today, and that's the least I've smoked in years.

The way I see it, is one day at a time. And one of those days I will forget to buy a pack like I sometimes do, shrug my shoulders, and say "F" it I don't need 'um anymore.

I know of a few who are still smoking occaisionally after months of vaping....I was vaping for 6 months before I finally walked away from analogs....it was an easy choice after I found what works for me. But then I also had no intentions of "quitting" when I started vaping...but still had an open mind. After a while the analogs become distasteful all on their own. But everyone is different. I have friends who quit within the first month of vaping, and I've met a few who transitioned immediatly from smoking to vaping and have never looked back.

I started vaping in July, and had no real intentions of quitting either. My smoking had automatically decreased to around a 1/2 pk a day versus 1.5-2 pks, though. It took me over 2 months to allow myself to reach the 24 hr mark without a cigarette. Once I got the right equipment and juice, I was suddenly only smoking 2-4. For the last 6 weeks, I was only smoking 1 a day and not really even trying to quit.

It wasn't until last Monday morning that I realized I had only one cigarette left in my pack, so I decided to stick it the freezer and see how long I could go before I needed it. That's one week ago today and it's still there.

For some of us, we just need to let the process of replacing smoking with vaping come naturally. I couldn't force it on myself. That would have taken the fun out of it for me!

I haven't smoked a cigarette in nine months. Oh, but I have thought about it, seems like at least 2 or 3 times a week. If I could buy a single cigarette, I probably would ... just to remind myself what they taste like. It's not as simple as bumming a smoke off someone, because my brand was quite uncommon in this area.
That's a good thing in my way of looking at it. :) Although, if I really wanted just one ... I could easily bum my second choice.

I've known people who quit for a decade or more and then went back to a pack a day, overnight! I sure don't want to do that. I refuse.

Last night I had a dream that I bought a pack. Arggg!

I've only been vaping for about 2 weeks now. I used to smoke 1-1.5 packs a day (smoked for 12 years) and now I'm down to 3-4, which is a huge improvement for me. I'm loving all the flavors that are out there but I'm still looking for that perfect replacement from smoking menthols. Either way, I can already tell a great improvement in my lungs.. so I'm happy.
Eventually I would like to cut out analogs completely, it's just not an immediate thing for me. But I'm getting there! :)

What a great way of looking at it! I havent vaped yet, my starter kit is arriving today--but I am doing this to try to quit analogs. I dont care if I ever quit the nicotine at this point, I just want off the analogs--but I'm one of those people who need to approach something like this with no pressure or it backfires on me. Like when I go on a diet and end up gaining 20lbs cuz all I'm thinking about is the food I cant have. I dont want to do that here, since I'm almost 3 PAD anyway, and that would really be awful to end up smoking 5 PAD, LOL!!! I really like the way you stated that-and I think I'll take approach to it. I hope I'm one of those who vape once and never touch another analog again, but if not, I'll keep trying to find the right equipment and juice till I get it right!
