Still tastes like hell. I'm so disappointed.

I got my Vapor King XL today with a bunch of different cartomizers.

This is my third ecig this week. They all have this distinct, rock-concert-fog taste that I can't get away from. I can only barely taste the flavors.

I started with Premium E Cigarettes at 11mg. They were awful.

Then my Eluma E Cigs 16mg arrived. Better! But still tasted the fog.

Now today my Vapor King XL 36mg is here and I'm crushed! Same thing!

There are clearly differences in the quality of the above ecigs, the Vapor King being the Cadillac of them all. But the taste! How did you all try this and decide to keep doing it?

I had and still have the same problem. Everything tastes like fog or perfume with a flavor except the mint flavors. So that's what I vape.

My all day vape is the WOW Peppermint (V4L) which tastes exactly like the Starlight Peppermint candies. I am currently waiting for some mint flavors from Mrs. T's to see what they're like.

Maybe your taste is like mine?

Omg thanks for saying that. As I read I thought wait, didn't I get that flavor this time? So I dug into the box and found the V4L smilin special menthol. I'll admit its a little better. Only hit it twice so far though.

With all due respect, I started with the 510 and then went to the eGo. I started off with 24 mg tobacco flavors in cartridges which I refilled as needed. I don't remember a perfumey or rock-concert-fog taste. It got me off analogs. I have since been able to decrease my nic level to 10 or 12 (but I vape a lot).

Cartomizers are a different animal. They are way more convenient since I no longer have to mess with atomizers or refilling cartridges. I have run into 2 out of 7 Cartomizers that tasted like crap right out of the plastic, but I understand this is just the way it is with Cartomizers. I also make sure I do not suck the cartomizer dry and refill them early (using the condom method).

I've had good luck with this so far. Maybe if you try to stick with just tobacco flavors until you get this under your belt, it would help. At first, I didn't like any of the non-tobacco flavors....now I like them better than tobacco. A lot of people will agree that your tastes change a lot in the first few weeks.

I think what happened is that I ordered a lot of pre-filled carts with my kit. They were only 16 mg. I think I sucked so much and so hard trying to get the amount of nic I needed that I burned them all out. OMG. Still, some don't appear burnt but this is all I can figure.
I've washed them all and refilled and they still taste like crap. (I only started the ecig because I'm dirt poor and will do anything avoid being foced into cold turkey quitting). Poverty is my motivation. So yesterday I started with brand new blanks, with higher nic content, to see how long they actually last if I don't burn or dry them out. So far, so good. They taste GREAT. LOTS of VAPOR. FLAVOR is FINE.
I say just keep at it til you figure out what is wrong and what is right. All the reading in the world didn't prevent me from messing up at first. Try some strong flavors that might help cover up the fog taste, maybe. CINNAMON is my fave. Good luck and don't give up!

What juice are you using? I've had some really awful stuff and then found some truly great stuff. I think that's what your issue is, you need good juice.

I have tried two ecigs so far.. Let me tell you carts suck.. I fill my ecigs with polyfill and ejuice.
I like the tennisee cured from johnson creek.. I taste like a type of coffee or a hazelnut.. you can see my video on you tube on hoe to make your own carts. Just search for hadiclownsalty on youtube and you will find it.. just experement and try diff ejuice there are a lot of companies to get it from. Try a couple different ones and let me know what you think.. I will be doing reviews on new ecigs and more juice on my youtube so subcribe and keep in touch.. I want you to be happy with vaping just like me..

It's got to be the priming fluid on the atties.

The Elumas took two cartridges to start tasting good. My 510s get a 90% alcohol soak and dry before they are primed and used. Never a bad starting vape (well maybe a little).

Did you blow the atomizers out before you vaped them? Most people do that with a new atomizer. With the 510s I soak the priming fluid out and then reprime with what I'm smoking. I haven't gotten another Eluma atomizer yet. Just the first two and they are working well.

I've been using the cartridges that came with the premiums and elumas, and now today been using the V4L cartomizers with the Vapor King XL.

I had high hopes for the watermelon (gack) and pink lemonade (slight gack) and pineapple (so bad I wrote this post). I just now "lit up" the Smilin Special Menthol and I actually taste peppermint. This is the first time I have "tasted" the flavor of a cart.

I will probably persevere. I just gotta find out what you all are talking about.

Oh man, most of those pre-filled cartridges are nasty. You're absolutely right, they taste foul. With one of the nasty ones, take it apart and figure out how you'd get different juice in there. Then hunt around the juice reviews forum and find some suppliers you are comfortable with and order some good stuff. My favorite juices come from Tasty Vapor and Ms T's.

Edited to add: There isn't primer fluid inside the cartomizers. I thought you were using cartridges, so said you should dissect one. Don't do that with a carto, though. Just figure out how to refill one and when you're ordering, buy some blank cartomizers.

A lot of poeple's tastes change as they vape longer. When I first started the vanilla flavor was almost tasteless to me, just had a background medicine taste to me. That's now my go to flavor. I had to go through Menthol, Tobacco, Cherry, then Watermelon before trying the vanilla again and about a month later it's now my favorite. If I'd been stuck with just vanilla on those first few days, I'd have dropped this like a hot potato.

What I didn't do but would recommend to anyone first starting is get a sampler of different flavors right from the start. Not all one kind of flavor, but different types of flavors, maybe a fruit flavor, a spice, a soda, etc. What tastes good to eat also doesn't necessarily taste good vaped and vis-versa. I don't particularly like cinnamon flavors in foods, but discovered yesterday that I like a cinnamon vape.

It takes patience, especially at first. It took me a month it decide to like vanilla and four months to find out that I like cinnamon.

My taste buds were so burned out that everything except menthol, mint & peppermint made me gag.
But I promise if you can get through a few weeks your tatse buds will come back and some of the flavors you do not like now you will then.
Stick with the menthols & mints for now or even the cinn flavors.

Well- contrary to maybe the vast majority of vapers... I have avoided cartomizers.

This is not an area I can help with. Refilling carts is fine with me. But I read those threads about the burning cartomizers and decided I wanted to pass on that.

For purely technical reasons, because I've never tried a cartomizer, I opted for cartridges. I have modded soem of the catridges with different wick- Fluval foam- for thick e-juice. But pretty much running a stock 510 unit.

Now that's really funny....grape was one of the first free cartos I got from V4L and that's the only one I thought was kind of ok!

I know my tastebuds are back because of how food tastes....I'm just one of those people who hates the taste of tobacco and smoked the lightest, girliest, mentholiest cigarettes ever. That's probably why I only like these minty flavors.

I hope you have a different experience because it stinks being locked out of the rainbow of flavors out there. Hang in there!

Thanks Lookie! I really appreciated your reply. I've been feeling kind of sucker-ish for spending so much moola and getting fog in return. I was just getting disappointed. The Smilin and Grape may save me yet!
