If your worried about heart problems, the best thing you can do is to not smoke. Nicotine is not harmful, so nothing to worry about there.

If you want to quit the fags, maybe look at getting a tank that will help you quit, then you can move onto more fun devices. My advice is to pick up a Triton Mini or a K3 kit, also from Aspire and try some juices at 12mg. That should get you a long way down the road of not craving the cigs.

Keep the cleito for times when you want to have some fun blowing clouds at low nic.
So if I quit smoking completely and vape, my heart will be better off is what you are saying? Or are you saying to not smoke anything at all?

"Smoke" is the key word. The most harmful thing about cigarettes are the byproducts of combustion. Eating a cigarette would be more healthy than lighting one up and inhaling the smoke. Vaping doesn't involve combustion. Nothing is on fire.

I agree with all statements above, I too smoked almost 2 packs a day for over 30 years. Every ailment from smoking has ceased in the almost 6 years of vaping and when I had my last x ray, my doctor told me that my lungs looked as if I never smoked at all. I know that last statement is maybe just my physical make up and may not pertain to the next person . I honestly feel like I never smoked and I owe it all to vaping. I never worry about nic content at all, I started out with 18 &24mg and still vape 18&24mg. I recently have tried lowering just to see the difference and it wasn't doing it for me. I also would suggest you upping the nicotine, besides it stopping your cravings, it gives you that throat hit as if your smoking. I also agree that a sub ohm tank, wide open draws, and lung inhales are not the best idea when starting, for they are more geared towards clouds, not that cigarette feel.

i am working on quitting smoking and starting to vape. I am still worried about the long term affects of vaping. Like the long term affects of smoking like a heart attack and stuff like that. I am using 3mg of nicotine and mixing it with zero nic so it is 1.5 mg. also, what can I do to help me not smoke and replace it with vape? All of my friends smoke, and it is so hard to not smoke while you are drinking. I'm just scared that my tank will break or something if I were to put it in my pocket . I have a rx200. But I really do not want to smoke anymore but like sometimes I just get a urge. Idk. I've looked it up countless number of times and nothing has helped. So I joined this, and hopefully some people will tell me how much better they are feeling since they started vaping and put down the analogs.

I've gone through all of this as well, I was really worried about having cravings while making the change from smoking analogs to purely vaping... but let me tell you. 23 days in, and I will NEVER touch another cigarette again. I can finally taste foods, smell things more purely, all the little things you don't realize you're missing out on while being a smoker.

I can walk 10 minutes up/down hill without being out of breath or sweaty, and I can literally smell a cigarette from across a field. The smell is so pungent it's ridiculous. I'm only 23 days in from quitting cigarettes completely, so I've only been coughing up specs of tar here and there (cilia starts really growing at the 1 month mark) but I am so excited for my body to really kick it into gear and start healing up. I already feel better than I ever have and I know it's only begun.

As far as worrying about your mod breaking, etc. Back ups, back ups. Your back up doesn't have to be an RX200 (even though they are pretty cheap at $42), it can be anything, but it's always good to have an extra just in case. RX200's are pretty sturdy as well, I have one myself and have a friend who has dropped his several times on concrete and it's still sturdy and not even dented.

I believe the reason you still are craving analogs is because you've only begun vaping. I was like that at first as well. Not only are you addicted to the nicotine within it, but it's mostly the array of other chemicals that increase the nicotine's affect. Your body has to purify itself of all of that first before you only need the nicotine, then it's easy going. It took two weeks for me, and I'm not looking back.

Best thing to do is not smoke or vape or inhale anything. But if you need help quitting the cigs, then vaping can help if done right, then you can reduce your nic level and quit completely or carry on as a hobby.

Main thing to note is vaping infinitely less harmful than smoking, and small amounts of nicotine has long term health benefits.

A lot of good stuff already said. If I was not such a believer, I would go through the responses above and write down the positives. It will be quite a big list.

Here is the forum for Success Stories. A lot of honesty of "this is where I was, this is what I am now". No one says that vaping is perfect, but it is a LOT better than smoking.

    E-Cigarette Success Stories

Speaking of success stories, consider writing your own when you realize your success. Send it to your local newspapers OP/ED page. I will help if you wish.

Smoking cigs is lazy. Pull one out of the pack and light it. Vaping is much, much healthier and many find it to be a hobby. So many flavors, so much hardware, so much satisfaction.

Actually, I find smoking rather disgusting since vaping works. As a vaper, my fingers, hair, clothes, car, house, furniture don't stink! I breathe better, I smell things better, I can taste things with much more clarity. I don't get sick, my doctor has noticed improvements in my lab tests, my dentist even noticed big change in my gums...just so many reasons to switch. And, for those reasons, I don't respect smokers for not switching. I don't stand near them anymore.

I've had one or two tanks with stronger nic juice for first thing in the morning, my normal level of juice for the day and lower nic juice for the evening when I am vaping more.

I am a success. One day I was 24mg and now I am 1.5mg and sometimes forgetting. My signature block says it all.

Just to be sure you are aware, Newtothevapelyf3. People do have heart attacks, strokes, cancer......without ever having smoked one cigarette or being near a smoker in their life. :)

You will learn quite a bit and are kept up to date of new developments if you go to CASAA.org and read, read, read. Joining that org. is free and it does help having many members.

Welcome to the World of Vaping! :)

Nicotine doesnt cause heart attacks or stroke or anything else. That would be tobacco, a common misconception. Remember this quote, people smoke for the nicotine, but die from the tar.

Nicotine is found is many foods, like tomatoes, cauliflower and eggplant for example. Vitamin B3 is Niacin - Nicotinic Acid, so its an essential part of our diet.

Although found in trace amounts in our diet, larger doses have shown to have further benefits, its very good at preserving neural pathways, preventing Crohn's disease, Alzheimer's and relieving the symptoms of Parkinson's. Trials are on going for other applications.

Its only relatively recently with the introduction of the patch and gum that we have learnt more about the benefits of nicotine, mostly because long term smokers would suffer life altering diseases and premature death before anyone had chance to study its effects later in life.
