I have a Stinger mech mod. It's a full SS mod and recently I'm having problems with it firing right. A couple weeks ago it worked fine but not when I use it, my RDAs produce almost no vapor, and the button on the bottom gets hot to the touch after about 3 seconds. I know the RDAs are not the problem as I can put them on any other device I have and they work fine. I also use LG HE2 and EFest purple 18650 batteries so they are perfectly fine with firing my .2-.4 build. I gutted the mod and cleaned every possible part with a cloth and alcohol but oddly there was minimal build up of resistance. I'm really confused as to why this mod is doing this. Any Suggestions?

Do you mean Stingray? And is it the Stingray X?

The RDA's may be the problem still. If you have cleaned the mod over and made sure everything is where it should be, that pretty much leaves the RDA's to cause the problem.

Since you say it's SS, it's makes me feel like it may the X, and if so it has a hybrid connection. That may be the problem...

If it looks like this Stinger switch, check the area where this one shows burn out.

Stingrax X?
Hybrid top or "regular"...?

If hybrid, check to see that the center pin protrudes from your atty at least a mm or so or you're gonna get a dead short (which obviously will create a lot of heat).

If a "regular" connection, as was suggested you need to disassemble and clean the switch and reassemble.

I use Tarn-X to clean my Stingray X. For the switch I just disassemble it--set aside the rice pin and put the rest into a plastic cup for two minutes while lightly swirling it around. Pour the Tarn-X back into the bottle for the next time and rinse your parts with cold water. Dry and reassemble and it's good for another couple hundred ml's.

I don`t know what mod that goes to, but If I saw that switch thing in my mod, I would promptly toss the whole thing in the trash. A quick analogy would be using severely undersized battery jumper cables that melt when you hook them up.

That`s just me though.
