I just picked up a Stingray Clone from my local shop and I have been using my Stillare clone with a single 24 gauge parallel coil. Recently I've noticed that occasionally when I push the button the mod shocks me. This only happens (I believe) when my hand is over the middle seam where the two tubes screw together. Does anyone have any advise?

The firing button (which is magnetic) also occasionally gets stuck on.

try getting new battery. shocks could indicate a short. I'm sure you know what you're doing but you could also make sure your connections in your stillare are screwed all the way down and make sure no part of the coils is touching the deck or side of the dripper but again I'm not trying to sound condescending I'm sure you know this. but if you get a new battery i suggest the sony vtc5. a lot of websites sell them in packs of 2 with a free battery case for around 20 bucks

Have you taken your switch apart?

If it's the one on the right my magnet was in backwards and was causing the switch to get stuck.

You may also want to give your switch a good cleaning if you haven't already. It may have some metal debris floating around.

Sounds like the negative connection is not making full contact, causing it to arc. Try sanding the delrin a little so the battery is closer to the firing contact.

No

Op is getting shocked at the Tube seam. This is a clear indication that is where the problem(contact loss) is located. Clean the mod, Not just the seam connection - the whole Mod.
