Hey,

So I've been wanting to pick up a mechanical mod and was at one of the local vape shops and they were selling the Stingray X clone for under $50 so I picked up the clone, a Nitecore charger and a NXJO 2500mah battery (IMR).

On the way home I unscrewed the RSST tank that the sales person put on it for me (to show me how well it fits) and used the hybrid adapter on my AeroTank mega and screwed it down on the mod.

First time vaping it for about 5 to 10 seconds and noticed that the body of the mod was getting warm. Immediate thoughts of the battery exploding and blowing off a few fingers passed through my head so I quickly unscrewed the AeroTank mega from the mod and dumped the battery into my hand which was hot enough to melt a tiny bit of the skin on my finger, and I immediately chucked it into the back seat and pulled over and grabbed a rag and chucked it into the bed of my truck in case it was still going to vent or something.

Well, I pulled over on the drive home and bought another 28650 battery but now I'm totally paranoid to even try it. I'm not sure if there is a problem using the AeroTank mega with the hybrid adapter or if there was some other way that it shorted out the battery etc.

I've still got the battery that got hot as I need to find the local recycling center as on the negative end of the battery the plastic sleeve melted a tiny bit so I've read that it's not okay to use a battery if the sleeve has been damaged.

Anybody got a clue as to whether it was using the hybrid adapter with the AeroTank mega that could cause the short, or something else?

Thanks
