Due to a small feeling of paranoia, I have saved my used Boge cartomizers and have maybe 50-60 .. all in a plastic bag, none ever cleaned .. just stashed when they lost flavor ..

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea if the workings inside would suffer over time due to rust or corrosion .. ??

In a worst case scenario, if somehow our supply chain got disrupted, I figured I could boil / clean these and have something to use ..

Thoughts appreciated ..

oxidization will get them in time,,best to clean and dry them out for storage

I figured it would be worse to boil than leaving as is .. water, since it would be difficult if not impossible to get them fully dry quickly, could cause corrosion more readily than a PG/VG leftover in the filler ..

No .. ??

I boil rinse old cartos 3 times, shake the water out, then put in the oven on 200* for an hour. I turn off the oven and let them cool inside. I store them in a large bowl. I don't use carto's much anymore, but you never know when they might be needed. I have tried a couple of them and they work good as new. The bowl has holes in the top just in-case of moisture leading to mildew in the filler.

My only problem with cleaning cartos is that once cleaned they are hit or miss for me. Sometimes one would be worth it but there were lots of times when I'd get one that wasn't. I hate wasting juice to fill them and then they still taste bad or don't work good. This was bad when I was using "store bought" juice that fouled my cartos within a day or two. Now that I diy, I can get weeks out of a single carto, still tasting and performing to my satisfaction. When I can get that kind of time and performance out of a carto that costs less than $2 to buy, I feel that I've got my money's worth. Right now I'm got a carto that has been going strong since April 24th and another that is going into it's second week.

But I too am concerned a bit about the PV future. I haven't thought much about rebuildables.. seems a little complicated to me, I'd need to have someone show me what to do. I'm finally at a point where everything works and works well. It has taken me several months of frustration on each of the vaping components to get to where I am now. Devices, juice, attys, cartos and juice. Right now I just don't have to energy or the funds to try to take on something new. If it really comes down to vaping being in serious danger, then I guess I'll muster the energy.. right now I just want to coast for awhile :)
