Ok so I now have like 5 attys. I want to clean them and put them away to be used at a latter date. My question is not about cleaning though. I've been looking at all kinds of posts about that. What I want to know is how to store attys. Are they ok without a cart or should I have something on them so dust wont get inside? Is it ok to leave a cart with liquid on it well it's not being used (Like over night...or for weeks on end of re-filling.) Also I remember my attys being shipped with liquid on them...Does that mean my attys should always be "wet" or is it's ok to just wash them and let them be dry in storage just as long as I put juice back on them before using. I may be getting crazy technical lol but I don't want to go to use my attys in a month and have them not work because they all dried out or something else unforeseeable ^.^

I was kinda rambling my thoughts so hopefully yall will know what I'm talking about

I think you might wind up getting different answers.

I think I have heard that many atomizers come with primer because otherwise they could get exposed to moisture and that could cause some corrosion, or something like that.

I could also swear that I read somewhere that Joye definitely does not put any primer on their atomizers, and that they store them dry with no special considerations whatsoever.

My thinking, therefore, is that a dry atomizer kept away from moisture should be fine.

Thanks for the responses :) I just want to be sure that I don't mess them by storing them. Also I wanted to make sure that constant exposure to juice won't mess them up either. Like the one that I'm currently using...I just switch it out onto a new battery and keep refilling it with juice. I know they will go out eventually but I'm hoping to get a full life span out of them.

I just don't open them until I'm ready to use them. Since I don't test the new ones with a multimeter, I run the risk of eating the cost of an atty that's DOA (a vendor is unlikely to replace it after a week or so). Hasn't happened yet, but it's just a matter of time. Oh, well. I play with matches, and run with scissors, too.

I have to say I was having some of the same concerns when I first started. My main worry was that switching juices would give that "mixed" taste, so I was considering buying several attys, and use one for each of my main 3 or 4 favorite liquids.

But I'm finding that it's not really an issue. When switching flavors/carts, I just blow any existing juice out of the atty manually, and within the first 3-4 big hits, the old flavor is gone, replaced by the new. As far as maintenance, I'm still using the same 2 atty's that came with my kit, and they look as clean as the day I got 'em (disclaimer - I don't use a lot of caramel/coffee, 'dark' flavored liquids)! I've only cleaned them maybe once or twice, and immediately went back to using them again afterwards. Guess maybe I'm living dangerously, but with a new atty costing only $6-$8 bucks, I'm thinking I just won't worry about it, and when one goes out, maybe order another 1 or 2.

I realize this is a bit off topic from your question about storing attys, but I guess I'm finding that I don't even really have a need to have too many extra attys on hand...If I do order another 1 or 2, I would most likely just take quasimod's approach and leave them in their original packaging until I need 'em. If I were you, and I had several already opened attys that i needed to store, I'd first get them all good and clean. Then I might try wetting 1 or 2 of them with the VG juice as someone suggested, the others i'd just leave dry. When it came time to get them out of storage, I'd just compare the two...if all of them still worked fine, then i'd just cut out the VG step, and start storing them dry from there on out.
