I've heard I can freeze my PG based nic most of it is 36mg but I do have a couple bottles of 100 also... about 10 240ml bottles in total).. I also have a bunch off PG/BG bases. Can I freeze them? And how about 30ml bottles of flavoring? Do I vacuum seal them? I've heard you can't freeze flavorings or mixed flavors. Any tips?

Good lord you got a lot a juice! You must be preping for the vape Apocalypse lol. As far as freezing, yes you can. Keeping it away from light is more important so store it in glass bottles with as little air as possible and in a paper bag or something to block the light. Cool, dry, and dark is what really matters.

(flavorings hum good question, never heard of freezing them.)

Really, I should transfer all my nic/bases into glass bottles for freezing? Yeah, I know.. we went a bit nuts with stock-piling but the sale made the 36mg PG nic base VERY cheap.... so we bought a bunch. I do a 60/40 or 70/30 PG/VG mix so I had to buy both. I have more PG than VG.... so I might pick a bit more of that up if I see it on sale again somewhere. I really want to try to Decadent Vapors nic base "Platinum Ice"... it's a 56mg nic base available in both PG or VG... but it's NOT cheap. I've heard it rocks and really makes the best tasting juice. SO far I've mixed all My D. Vapor concentrates with regular PG/VG and they still taste great to me... not quite as good as their pre-mixed, but close. I imagine the Platinum Ice makes the difference.
But at that price, stocking up on a product like that takes more financial investment. Has anyone tried D.V. Platinum Ice and if so, is it as good as I've heard it is from D.V. fans?

Isnt it dangerous to freeze glass ? I always cracked glass in the freezer?!

PG/VG will not freeze solid in a standard freezer. Liquids expand when they freeze solid so If a liquid is poured into a a bottle with no head space or room to expand it has no where to go so consequently it bursts/cracks the bottle.

Yeah I cracked many Pepsi glass bottles when I was a kid. Thx for the info.

Just out of curiosity, why is freezing the liquid in plastic less effective?

Some people worry about the transfer of plastic into their liquid. I really don't think it is much of an issue IMHO. Some people also will tell you that it should be colored glass but in my experience it is already pretty dark inside a closed refrigerator or freezer.

Once chilled the NIC/PG/VG chemical aging reactions slow way down. Your NIC/PG/VG will probably last for several years this way. There really isn't anything to "go bad" in these chemicals. The one thing you should do however is to make sure any of these containers are nearly full. The presence of oxygen will turn nicotine brown over time and perhaps give it an off taste. (Oxidation.)

Good luck!

Yes, I've already done it... I was just curious. Thanks for the the explanation! *But I did add a bit more to make all the bottles completely full after reading the comment below from pinellaspete.

Plastic is not as good because air may leach threw. Long term high nic base storage is best in glass. Can you get by with plastic, maybe but why take the chance. You just spent all that money on nic why scrimp now?

The sad fact is that even with little headroom, there is probably more O2 dissolved in the PG or VG than in the mL or so headspace. Freezing VG-nic will essentially stop all reactions, since it becomes almost glue-like in the freezer, and the nic or O2 has little mobility. PG-nic might not fare quite as well, but it depends on the liquid itself. TW 36 mg PG unflavored deepened a lot and became very tobacco-tasting after a year in the freezer. Decadent Vapor, which uses higher grade purer nic in PG hardly changed at all in a year. PG-nic is still quite liquid and mobile in the freezer. My VG-nics have not changed at all in 2+ years, and I do not expect them to.

that all said, the amount of O2 that is in a glass bottle of nic-liquid is very small, and even if it all reacts, the potency of the nic will hardly be diminished. Also, while the TW had changed dramatically in a year, it had changed into an absolutely delicious tobacco-flavored liquid. I was sad that I had to give it away, but PG causes big problems with me. If I could replicate that flavor in a VG juice, I'd be in heaven.

Glass is more stable to long term liquid storage. Also PG and VG both can leach plasticizers from some plastics, which is not good for you, and leads to cracking over time. Which plastics, I do not know, so I just store long term in glass.

I'm not a fan of tobacco flavors, so this isn't god news for me. I vape mostly fruit flavors/florals... the only tobacco flavor I ever vape is Boba's bounty and only that one very rare occasions. In the future I'll buy VG based nic.... and even better I think I'll invest in some DV Platinum Ice this month. Last I checked, they only have 100ml bottles in stock but they used to carry larger bottles. With the Platinum Ice, would you suggest the PG or VG version? I use both PG and VG in all of my mixes, so it doesn't matter to me either way. I just want a product that will last the longest and retain as much purity as possible. Thanks for the great information!
