So, I am starting to re-wick my Kanger heads myself using cotton. I recently read that cotton takes a couple of hours to really prime, and it made sense to me. Since I re-wick in batches, my question is this:

If I prepare a handful of heads, can I prime them with a couple drops of juice and store them in a small ziplock bag?

It seems that this way, the cotton would have a chance to really absorb the juice before using them. My fear, however, is that the juice gets gummy and ruins everything. Has anyone left a moist head out, and had it work well, or was it a sticky mess?

My other option would be to start priming a new head the night before I need it... but that takes too much organization for me.

I just started doing this too. Added a wee bit of cotton on top of the coil. In my experience, it did take a bit to get primed, i kept getting funky semi-burned hits at first. I did this the first time at work because my coil head started leaking and i had no spares. Did it around midnight. Kept vaping on it here and there through out my shift and by the time i got home around 8am it was golden. Good clean flavor, no more leaking.
I would think in theory pre-priming them and storing them should work. They may be a bit sticky after a sit but i would think that would be a small price to pay for the convienance of it. Maybe use some of those small bags body jewelry comes in to store them.
I may have to try this out myself to see how it goes.

Oooo, good point on bacteria growth. Wonder if there is any kind of data on that. I wouldnt think any would grow with the nicotine but i could be wrong (i am divorced after all). I would also tend to think any baterial growth would be quickly killed by the coil heating.
Maybe give it a quick couple pulse burns (no inhale) as a precaution. Couldnt hurt.

Not to be rude, and no offense intended but really folks...
Yeah "I've heard" that bacteria can grow in milk if its stored in the refridgerator for extended periods haaaaaaaaaaaa

Imnsho...you'll be fine. I rewick with cotton all the time. I wet the cotton with a dab of unflavored 50/50 nic so its easier to snip/trim off the cotton tails before putting the chiminey and silicone cup back on. They store just fine plugged into a silicone driptip cover then into a small ziplock bag.

There's never been any problems for me with these pre-wet wicks ime.
Fwiw... The very thought that bacteria could grow on or in the presence of nicotine is laughable imho. Just keep those dirty hippy hands washed heh heh.
After all, you're going to be using these wicks/coils in the near future anyway...thats half the beauty of rewicking with cotton anyway, the ability to quickly change out wicks/heads with a fresh one for a flavor change whenever you wish for virtually zero cost and fantastic flavor vapor performance.

hth,
Jon
