Suddenly my Buzz Pro or Cartomizer is working strangely. I don't know which it is.

I am having to loosen or tighten my cartomizer between every vape. It just started today. I'll go to take a vape and nothing happens. Screwing the cartomizer a tad bit tighter gets it going again. But then the next vape again nothing happens and slightly unscrewing it gets it going. All day long this has been the case back and forth.

The cartomizer has been on there for about 4 days and has worked fine up until today. And after loosening or tightening it, it is vaping great.

It's Karma for blaming me in the other thread. JK/LOL Make sure the center post on the carto and the BP are clean and have no juice or anything else on them.

Hey watch it there.... Don't mess with my Karma, I have nothing but good Karma floating around me this week!

And I know I shouldn't have blamed you. But Mike scolded us and I had to blame someone, the last thing I want is Mike angry at me! The next time a cookie is missing from the cookie jar, I promise you can blame me.

I'll check everything to make sure it is clean. I assume we mean the carto is shorting out and not my buzz pro, or at least that carto is causing the buzz to short out and not the other way around. If it is shorting out, is there something I can do with the meter to test that?

Not really this usually happens under compression when they are tight .

He wasn't mad or scolding us. He was just putting us back on track. When he gets mad he get's out the whip.

OK, so I decided to try cleaning it first. I just finished, so I don't know if being dirty was the problem. I used a paper towel and basically just spun it around in the srew area of the connector on the buzz and the screw area of the carto. It seemed to work but as I typed my last sentence it died mid vape again. So cleaning wasn't the problem. I will toss this carto and get a new one.

But while cleaning, I noted there was gunk on the paper towel. It wasn't juice. I've used the paper towel before and the juice was moist and a much lighter brown. The gunk on the paper towel was almost dark and not juice. Since I've gotten this tank there hasn't been a drop of juice when I clean so I kind of got a little lazy about cleaning for the last week or so. In the future would it hurt to take a Q-Tip with a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean around the conector screw every few days?

And what was that gunk?

I agree with the carto thing. Same thing happened to me when beta testing. Switched out the carto and it was fine. the protection is kicking in!

I have been hanging out here to long man !!!

Are those the scolding icons??? Now I know what to watch out for.

I'm thinking it is protection as well. Because now it is also going off mid vape. It is a bummer to, because the carto is hitting really nicely (that is when it works of course) I don't want to open the LR can of worms here.... but has this happened because I am still using the LR carto's (they are about 2.0 ohms) or is this just as likely to happen with a regular carto?

And while I am picking everyones brain, is 2.0 ohms really LR or are there degrees. Before getting the buzz pro I had attys that were at 1.7. I know many in this forum do not suggest LR but is'nt 2.0 better then 1.7ohms?

What voltage are you running it at ? or color position ? it should be fine @ 2 ohms full range , try another carto please that way you can tell .

I've been finding that at 2 ohms, I am really enjoying tha vape on the orange (or is it yellow). In the mornings I turn it a tad bit lower then the yellow (about 4.3) and by evenings I am right on the yellow (about 4.5). It could just be my imagination, but when I use the regular cartos and turn it up high enough to get the same vapor/flavor it is a bit harsher and hotter.

I am going to change the carto in a little bit, just waiting on the husband to slot a fusion. He is right in the middle of playing Call of Duty with his friends... and it seems he has his priorities!

I've had an intermittent problem like that, but only with one particular atty (Ikenvape Cannon, 2.5Ω).

My Classic Buzz isn't fazed by it—it only happens with the Pro. Is it possible that the atty resistance is borderline and the protection circuits are cutting in?
