Strange Burnt Plastic Smell from the GLV 2 XL

I am using the GLV 2 XL. It is amazing. Just got a weird plastic smell and the wire is exposed in the top cap. Just wondering if something went wrong with the electronics. I use it with a surge tank and it works usually. But just recently it stops working for a couple of days then starts working again. Anyone with experience of this or if this is a normal thing please respond

looks fine to me. It may be the smell of the liquid electrical tape, but lets be sure. Could you please call me?
