I've just received my first PV yesterday, and I'm having some serious trouble with it. For the first few puffs, everything worked fine -- so far so good. Quite quickly however, I noticed that I was getting virtually no vapor out of it. Thinking it was just a dead battery, I recharged it overnight, without any success -- this morning it was still only good for a few puffs. I tried switching the cartridges, to one that I could see the liquid in (the filler was saturated), and still nothing. I tested the battery with a meter, and it's putting out 3.5v, which should be well within the tolerances for the 510 atty I have hooked up to it. After I took the meter off of it, however, it's having more/stranger trouble -- now, with no atty hooked up, the LED stays on (and the circuit is closed, I've verified that with the meter) -- but if I push the button the LED turns off and no power is released; essentially the function of the switch is inverted. When I screw an atomizer onto it, the LED stays off and neither switch position is turning the power on. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before?

That was the original idea; I wanted something I could try cheaply and then upgrade to something like an Ego-T one part at a time if it worked for me. Unfortunately, I live in Canada, and Canadian shipping is prohibitively expensive (and time consuming -- 2 day xpresspost means "you'll get it when we feel like it") -- this $10 010 "fake 510" (which was very well reviewed on this forum) and 5 blank cartomizers cost me close to $50 after shipping. In addition, I've spent $50 on 24mg e-juice, which hasn't even arrived yet (the supplier with the flavors I wanted doesn't sell parts, and the supplier I found with reasonably cheap starter kits doesn't sell nicotine-containing juice). So, essentially, I need to either a) figure out what the problem is and try to fix it (towards which end I've fired an email off to the supplier, but I'm not expecting a lot as this IS supposed to be a disposable unit -- for something that comes with a battery charger, that likely means "won't last very long"), b) wait until my tax return cheque gets here and buy a better unit, then wait for it to get to me, or c) give up on the whole idea, try to sell the juice when it gets here, and go back to analogues.

It sounds to me like you are SOL, though. Did you for sure use the charger that came with your disposable unit? Because if you used any other kind of charger, you might have fried it (according to what it says on Jacks website).

It sounds to me like you have a defective unit. I read that because it is a disposable, the 14 day warranty does not apply. I can understand that - BUT - you never vaped off it. It is defective and failed to perform, even for a few minutes.
Wouldn't the supplier exchange it for one that actually works? This thing failed right out of the package. That is not right. Based on this, the supplier could sell defective products all day and do nothing more than collect money from people. I would have a heart to heart with the supplier and I would do it immediately.

I've tried emailing and phoning the supplier, with no answer so far; however, that is somewhat understandable since it's the weekend. (Canada Post only ships m-f, so there's not really any reason for Canadian suppliers to be open over the weekend). I'll try again tomorrow and see what happens.

Rob from HappyVaper just got back to me -- he said that although this sort of problem is rare, the 010 isn't one of the most reliable units they sell (unsurprisingly, given the amount it cost); nevertheless, he's willing to exchange it for a new one.
You should consider getting a good beginner kit ASAP. Those disposables will drain your wallet quickly. Beginner kits are sometimes pricey at first but A LOT cheaper in the long run.
So glad your supplier responded to you. I agree with dcassidy, you might consider upgrading your pv. There are eGo and Riva 510 sets available for $30 to $40 US.

That's the idea; assuming that a pv turns out to be an acceptable substitute for cancer sticks (and helps keep the cravings under control -- I've tried nicotine replacement therapy before, and it hasn't even kept me from smoking for so much as a day) the first thing I'm going to get with my tax refund is an ego-t kit. This disposable is basically just a trial run; once I've recieved the tank setup it (along with whatever non-used cartos I have left) are going to be passed on to a friend of mine I work with who wants to try e-cigs. It's not by any means going to be a long term solution.

On Wednesday, I received my replacement PV, and I'm loving it -- 5 cigs in two days (down from about 25 a day), and great flavor/vapor -- I'm especially loving the Champagne Canadian from JuicyClear. The only problem I've noticed is that it's hard to put it down, lol -- since I can vape at my desk at work, I'm constantly taking drags off of it, rather than just every 45 minutes or so like a normal cig. I've discovered that a) cartomizers are definitely not my favorite, although I've got 5 of them so we'll see how it goes once I've gone through them; and b) an Altoids tin is the perfect size for my "on the go" pack -- it'll hold at least 2 atomizers (I've only got one at the moment, so I'm guessing here, but it might even hold up to 3), 3 3ml bottles of juice, 4 filled cartomizers, 7 standard cartridges (in their endcaps), and a 280mAH battery, and still close properly.
