Most of what I've read has been saying it really doesn't go on what you're used to smoking with a normal cigarette, but I am curious as to what to order in the way of strength when I order my stuff tomorrow. I don't want it to make me sick! I was thinking of starting out with 18mg and going from there.. I am going to go with the VK ultimate automatic I think, and just get some sampler packs. Anyone have any tips on strength?

I just got mine yesterday, It is a learning process, might want to look at my post this morning. I think I might of got too strong to start. 8-o
What kind of cigs do you smoke now?
Also, you may want to get man batts instead, or see if they will send you one of each in your kit. I did not get the kit, I just ordered by piece and the price was almost the same, to get what I thought I needed.

its all personal and individual. i thought i needed 24 when i started, but quickly realized that i vaped much more often than i smoked. i cut down to 18, and after 3 weeks i'm at 6mg. on occasion i'll still take the 24 for that throat hit (and an interesting nic 'buzz'), but i can't do too much of it or its headache city.
all gonna depend on your need for nic and how often you vape. i'd say the 18 is good starting point. perhaps get a few 0nic doublers in case you want to cut it down, cause you can always take extra drags if you need more nic.

Welcome Aboard!

That's a tough call. General concensus is that 10-12mg strength is about equal to the satisfaction you may get from a light cigarette. Anywhere from 18-24mg or even as high as 36 may satisfy the regular cigarette smokers needs. So much of it depends on each individual person.

I started out with 24mg and quickly reduced it to 18 and I've been fluctuating between 10 and 20mg even almost 3 months into vaping. I'm sensitive to PG so a lot of the juices I liked were only available in PG, so I would purchase them at 24 or 36mg strength then cut them 50/50 with VG (50% juice / 50% glycerin) which not only cut the mg strength in half but cut the flavor too. Now however, I make my own juice for the most part and can increase the flavor as I wish.

A lot of people like myself find that we vape a lot more than we ever smoked. Well, that's a tough call too. When I smoked I would smoke a whole cigarette now and not have another one for a half hour or hour. But now that I've turned to the vaping side, I have learned just how convenient it is and can grab it anytime I want it or even think about it knowing that it's not harmful like cigs were so why not.

I would start with whatever strength your starter kit comes with and go from there. You can always either increase or reduce your nicotine levels as you learn. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well your new PV will satisfy your needs.

Good Luck.

I was on ultra lights (Marlbro) about a pack to 2 a day (usually not 2) and I started on24mg - found it a bit rough for an all day vape - its fine for a couple of hits though. I go with 12mg as my all day but looking to drop that as I know I could do with less and be ok.
@Need: 0 nic doubelrs are liquids in the EXACT same flavor you have with your xxmg nic juice but with ZERO in them themselves. You use them to 'dilute' the nic strength in the xxmg nic juice without losing flavor or TH or vapor. You would buy them from the same place you get your xxmg juice.

Cool for the juice I have in the bottles, any suggestions for my already pre-filled cartos?

maybe this can help in comparing to analogs. the mg # means mg/1ml. the best info I can find says 1-3mg per analog cig. If you have a supermini model that holds .25ml of liquid and at 24mg concentration you will have 6mg of nicotine in one cart...or 2or3 analog cigarettes worth of nicotine. So vaping more 18 mg can give you the same amount of absorbed nicotine as vaping less 24mg.

Oh, let me jump in again, on comparing.
whoever "they" are says, you get 10-12 puffs on an analog, I smoked 100's so I would say I got upwards of 15 puffs per analog. I have seen some manufacturers of e cigarettes claim that 5 or 6 puffs equal an analog. This may be true for the amount of nic in each puff but not for replacing the experience of enjoying a cigarette. I mean 6 puffs and you are done?

That clears a lot up, thank you guys. So basically if I want to be sure starting out I should get the "blank" Cartridges and fill them myself? I have no prob with that at all.. And I also need some doublers I take it. This forum has been so helpful, I am sure I will have more questions. Oh, and I smoke Camel lights, I think they are a light cigarette a little on the stronger side, but then again I havent tried anything else in a couple of years.

There really are so many variables it is almost impossible to predict. These include:

Thickness of juice...thick means less nic is lung-available. So PG vs VG vs thinned with alcohol/water.
Efficiency of atty/cart. I was 36 mg with stock 510 carts, now 12-14 mg with ZFM mod.
Degree of individual nic to cotamine metabolism efficiency.
How deep the hits are...this is an oral vs lung absorption issue, which then relates to the metabolism efficiency for your individual body.
How often you hit.
How much nic buzz you actually want.

These are all independent of what you smoked or how many of them in a day, but that too is a factor...just one factor of many. this one also depends on how deeply you inhaled that smoke.

So just find the level that you like the most and stick with it. And don't compare your comfort zone with others, since there is just not enough detailed info generally shared to make such a comparison.
