The 18 to 12 descent was the easiest for me. Much easier than analog to 24mg drop. There is so much other putrid crap and chemicals added to cigarettes that keep you addicted, way beyond just the nicotine.

TC, I am very sorry to hear about your nephew. Your family is in my prayers. This has been an extremely difficult holiday season for me as well. My best friend in the whole world, my dog who is by my side 24/7, had another terrible stroke. She is walking around like a drunken sailor, unaware of her surroundings. I'm giving her as much love as possible, but I don't think she will make it much longer, and that just crushes me.

Add to the fact, on the same day I found out my father is going through heart failure. I'm fairly tough, but I admit I have been crying my eyeballs out lately. :( :(

I know exactly what you are going thru with your dog.

Our 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier has had 2 strokes in the last year and had to have all his teeth removed because they were hurting him and he was having a hard time eating.

He has little balance now (just like your dog) and has lost alot of weight.

He runs into walls so we are guessing his eyesight is poor.

Takes him forever to realize he is supposed to eat his bowl of food.

Most of the time I hold it for him and talk to him to get him to eat it.

He is on four different meds and it is hard to get him to take them.

It's sad because he has been the best dog, and I hate seeing him like this.

I don't know how much longer we will let him go, but I guess we will know when the time comes.

Just making him as comfortable as we can for now.

Thought of a funny story too.

Speaking of flicking your cigs out the car window.

My hubby and one of his co-workers were traveling to another town for a job.

His co-worker was driving and flicked his cig out the window, it went over the top of the car and right in the passenger window, directly in hubby's lap!

I have no idea how that happened!

We got a good laugh out of that one.

While driving, I sometimes would have the unlit cig in my mouth, but I'd have to drive, signal, shift, turn... and after a while, I'd finally light it. But by then the filter was stuck on my lips. I'd try to take it from my mouth, but my fingers would slide right along and I'd burn myself, knocking the cherry off, burning the seat and/or my pants. Did this at least 4 times!!

Also had the .... boomerang back into the car. I have several ruined shirts, jackets, pants...

But on a day like today, with the wind, cold and snow, standing outside shivering with my smoke.

One Hundred Days, and only looking forward!!!!

So true and I can't tell you how many times I tried to flick a cig out of the window for it to pop back into my car. Nearly wrecked a dozen times trying to find the little bugger petrified it flew in my hair. People who would see me trying to drive and flailing my hair all over probably thought I was a lunatic.

haha!
I have long long hair too and I know I did the same frantic dance now and then. I just realized how great it is to not worry about burning my hair when trying to light a cig, too.

I don't miss smoking. Not inside, nor outside, nor in the car.

I have often lamented at how fussy vaping is, or can be, with all our gear and juice. But it's true that smoking cigs has its own fussiness. You have to go outside, you have to be sure you have a pack available, it has to have enough cigs in it, you have to be sure you have a working lighter, you have to worry about the smell, tar puts a hideous film over everything, cigarette butts are terrible sources of litter .. and on top of all of that you KNOW it's truly horrible for your health.

Yeah I don't miss it, but that's only due to how satisfying vaping is for me when it works right (as it does way more often than not now that I'm getting past the steep learning curve).

It is so tough to see your children suffer. The vet has my dog on "prednisone", it's the only thing that has sparked an appetite.

He knows you are right there with him just like you have always been and always will be.

When the time is right, you will know.

Oh man, that's hilarious, thanks for reminding me of that one Dave! I have asked other smokers if this ever happened to them, nope. I though I was the only one.

Put a cig between my lips, wet lips stuck to the dry filter, light the cig and take a puff, put the cig between my index and middle finger to take it away from my mouth and my fingers slid all the way to the cherry burning my finger and knocking the cherry off and onto my lap. I have several pants with obvious cherry burns, a center console burn, carpet burn, even a burn on the buttocks of my jeans from a cherry falling into my crotch! LOL!

Btw...I hope im not discouraging anyone else out there. I will probably wake up tomorrow the exact opposite of how I felt today. Finding out my 3 week old nephew passed away yesterday was tough. I feel sooo bad for my sister and her husband. Thanks for the encouragement guys. I do appreciate it.

Awww, that's tough, TCO76....sorry to hear it.

Yeah, I get tired of the "fiddling" sometimes too. I like to switch among lots of different flavors, so I have collected a whole slew of devices (mostly cheapies, some better ones) and sometimes it seems like I'm constantly charging batteries, refilling tanks, or something even though I have so many. That's when I think about quitting vaping, or at least slowing down a lot. But the next day I'm usually right back in the groove. I don't think I'd want to add the additional "fiddling" of rebuilding coils or DIY though.

I love having my ECF "support group" to come to, (but spend way too much time on it!) I used to have other hobbies, lol!! Need to get back to them some day!

Not sure why vaping has become so all-consuming for so many of us, but for me at least, I am going to have to get some balance back one of these days. :p

Maybe that's what you need, too. Good luck!!

Wow, so many responses came in while I was composing mine!! So many of you had such interesting and insightful comments, not to mention the funny ones about nearly wrecking the car because of burning ashes getting loose inside - certainly been there, done that.

I'm sorry for those of you who have had to deal with losing beloved family members, or nearly losing them. I know how that is too.

As for the pets, that too. I'm a devoted animal lover and we have lots of them. On New Year's Eve, we lost one of our most beloved - a G. Shepherd mix who was about 15 y/o. So I'm pretty sad right now. Around Thanksgiving, he came down with pneumonia and was so sick and weak for 2 weeks that he couldn't even turn over by himself. But he fought all the way back - we were amazed. But this past Monday night, we saw that he was sick again, and he passed on the next day. He just quietly became weaker and weaker and finally took his last breath.

But it sucks....

Agreed. I have noticed that I really look forward to my nightly dripping sessions.. something about it I guess. But thats about the extent of my tinkering. Lol.

I am back on my routine and am feeling good. I get complacent with all things in life at times and when I do I like to admit it and forget it, then move on. Its the recipe for happiness.

This thread is a perfect example of the great people here on ECF. We are all going through this deal together. We all struggle. And we all can help one another. So thank you again to you all for the kind words and encouragement.

It's so good to hear that you are feeling good!

I am starting to really like the dripping too.

Tried some more of the juices I received.

Like the Frost Blossom, Zombie Apocalypse and Cupcake City.

Didn't detect hardly any lemon in lemon loves cake.

A couple of them don't smell good to me but I will try them anyway.

I think my tastebuds are changing cuz some of the juices I didn't like before are smelling good to me.

Ordered some Belgian and Voodoo today with my tanks, mini tanks and coils.

I have a green Triton tank that is designated "The Voodoo Tank!"

You just can't wash that flavor out.

Our dog is on four different meds and the only one I can remember is Antivert for the dizziness.

He also has a "Cherry Eye" and needs surgery for that but isn't well enought to get it.

I am just thinking that if he is ever in pain that will be it for me.

Right now, he seems pretty comfortable though some days he is perkier than others.

He sleeps on my bed at night and it is going to be tough on me when he isn't there anymore.

I'm going to give him a warm bath tomorrow, believe it or not he loves that.

Welcome freeatlast and sorry about your german shepard. And well said TCO69.......sometimes when real life gets you down it's good to get on here and just laugh and be silly a little. We share a common goal and are at different stages in that goal and can help each other and be supportive.

Laughter really is the best medicine, so is the right nic level!!!! Just sayin' :p
