I have been a dual user for over 3 years now and found vaping can be frustrating if you are trying to cut back on analogs. At first I played with equipment struggling with different batteries and atomizors cartomizers and such. Then was the quest for the perfect juice HA!.
I just never found the combo to replace a cigarette, until now!!!!!!!! If you want a satisfying vaping experience that comes close to what smoking a cigarette gives, PLEASE try a WTA juice (whole tobacco alkaloids) I bought some from wholecig (see forums on here regarding that) and it is the most satisfying (in terms of calming and pleasure) vaping experience I have had to date. I use it straight at 21mg and 25mg and like the way it tastes and acts closely to an analog. I dont want phony sweet tobacco flavors as I never knew a cig that tastes like that.
IMHO.
Good Luck

the "mistake" most smokers who start vaping make is expecting the vape to be an exact duplicate of smoking. Many expect to have the same flavor, texture, rush etc. Vaping is another method of nic delivery, not the same as smoking... once people understand that it is different and accept the differences then switching over is easier. I have yet to find an exact flavor duplicate for menthol ciggies... but what I did find is Heathers Heavenly Vapes juices... especially the NETS they carry which are flavorful enuf to keep me happy...

Thanks Chimney, I really appreciate the kind words. So many seem to post that they started ecigs and "poof" no smokes. As noted I'm hanging in there as I can see the possibilites. I'm using 12mg nic cause DH's 24 about choked me. Maybe the 18 would do the trick.
Thank you again!! :)

Some of that "poof" might be from folks who were really ready to quit. There is a major psychological component in the quitting process. It did happen to me that way. But you say DH brought it home for you and even though the desire to try may be there, the desire to actually quit might not be as strong. I don't know and not trying to assume. Just a consideration. Chimney is dead on. Good advice. Just remember, for every cigarette you don't smoke, your body thanks you. Small victories are still victories! Good luck!

I and many friends smoked almost as long as you did, and were able to quite instantly once we discovered ecigs. However, it is different for everyone, clearly. I do think it's incredibly important to get a) the right tasting eliquid, and b) the right nic concentration. And for allof us that did quit, it was never intended - more accidental.

So, keep at it, and don't feel it must be an 'either or' sort of thing. Do what works for you, enjoy it, and work on finding an eliquid that you love more than analogs :)

For me, I didn't beat myself up for smoking in the beginning. I still smoked at the usual times, after eating, before bed, wakey up time. I personally chose dessert and fruit favors so that the analogs would taste nasty after a while and they did! I vaped 24mg until I started dripping and went to 12mg. Never give up!!

I'm only on my 5th day in and after a long day at work where I can't smoke or vape, I struggle to not buy a pack of cigarettes when I have my vaporizer in my purse. I hear the familiar voice telling me, "obviously you can quit, so go have a cigarette and start again tomorrow". However, once I start in on the ecig, the idea of spending money and having to restarting my "quitnow!" app, feels silly. Be sure to reward yourself for small victories - they count! Best of luck!

I started with an ego-t too :)

Like you, I'm a menthol smoker. I selected pure menthol juice with a touch of koolada. I've found sub-zero from Halo to be extremely helpful in aiding the transition from analogs to solely vaping. The coolness from the koolada (cooling agent) coupled with the menthol taste almost exactly the same as a Marlboro Black Menthol. Throat hit etc was spot on. I've tried other novelty flavors but something seems to be missing. Its definitely not the nicotine (since that can easily be adjusted), rather the menthol throat hit and coolness while exhaling.

My advise is don't go cold turkey on analogs straight away. Cut down on your analogs slowly and try picking up your mod instead of lighting up whenever you have a craving. It takes time and a bit of effort but you'll get there :)

Once you get the hang of things but still feel that something is missing, try changing your setup. I got a mech mod and a RBA tank and the difference in taste, flavour and throat hit was so pronounced. Took me 2 days to realise I was actually eager to vape rather than light an analog. Been analog free ever since. In fact, I've also started trying other flavors (apart from menthol). I'm starting to appreciate and enjoy the nuances in flavor from non-menthol juices and it has been a blast!

Although its still at an early stage, but I'm still blown away that vaping actually works. I'm positive vaping will have a positive impact on your life. Just stick to it without much expectations and try replicate your smoking habit/taste as closely as possible.

You will get there like most of us on ECF :)

Thanks for the kind words. Actually the juice I've using the most is the Halo Sub Zero - not that it tastes great but it seems to be the only one that gives me enough of a hit to stave off a cig longer than any of the others. I ordered an iTaste vv3 and some different toppers and juices, including 18mg nic. All won't be here till next week so I'm going to just do the best that I can until then.

Have a great weekend!! :)

joey, that's great to know!! AND, so glad that it has worked for you. I posted in response to someone else, that I've ordered a bunch of new stuff that should be here next week. I'm going to try all that and if it doesn't work WTA was already on my next up to try. Just wasn't sure whether to order flavored or plain. Good to know the plain works. Haven't been impressed so far with taste from juices so far. As someone else posted, I haven't smoked watermelons for the last 40 years.
