just got a vamo v3 and this thing is firing during shutdown... is this normal?

5 clicks on, "rainbowheaven" text scrolls across the screen followed by an "on", 5click off... rattle snakes at what appears to be the full 15watts while the cheesy "rainbowheaven" scrolls across the screen again (5seconds)

purchased this from COV, my coworker is experiencing the same thing with the one he got today too. can any other owners chime in.

edit: no, my finger was not on the button... it was firing on its own

Ok,,, First Congratulations on getting the Vamo V3, I have the Vamo V2 and love it. I did some checking around and this is what I found... The "RainbowHeaven" text that scrolls across is part of the "branding". The V3 is also called the "RainbowHeaven". I don't know what you mean about the rattle snakes... But I did find this link and maybe it might explain a few things for you? Vamo V3 Variable Voltage/Watt Mod Wholesale - Ecigator This link is more than just a sales location, it has some operating information and a video on it as well.

Also, I noticed on my V2, if I'm not clicking fast enough, I do hear a little sounds like it's firing when it's shutting off. It doesn't do it when I'm fast enough though.

Hope this helps at least a little.

rattle snakes = the sound it makes while firing due to the pwm :)

im uploading a video to youtube that should be finished in 5min... i dont think this is normal lol.

i wouldnt advise purchasing one till this is sorted out however. the 2 units my coworker and i received exhibit the same issue. when shutdown, it fires on its own for a few seconds...

in the meantime while i wait for my member status to be updated, can someone link this thread to the existing vamo v3 thread in the vamo subforum: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/394547-vamo-v3.html

Since the Vamo forum is in the APV forum, you have to have 15 posts to post in there (glitch not yet fixed). After you have 15 posts, and your account updates (25 after the hour), we should move this thread there. Please report the thread (on first post via little yellow triangle icon), and request it to be moved to Vamo forum if I don't catch it before then.

Thanks :)

I did find a few review vids on youtube and none of them mentioned the firing issue after turn off. I would contact the vendor and ask them about it. It was interesting to find out that it comes in more than one model such as one without the rhinestones and one that is size adjustable like the V2 and one that isn't. Neat product and the reviewers seemed to like it. Hopefully you can get your issue resolved.

I think its good you let us know. Like quite a few people I wasn't really into the v3 cosmetic changes anyway so wouldn't buy one. Sounds like they've made other changes too that don't work so well. The Vamo most of us have - the V2 - is fine as it is.

i was a sucker for the oled and removable cap that allows kanger t3's to be used. why couldnt they incorporate both into the old body style... nobody knows.

the new design is horrendous, i was hoping it wouldnt be too bad when it arrived but when i powered it on and was greeted with "rainbowheaven" it instantly reminded me of these...

lol. As far as I know the v2 stainless Vamos will take the T3s. I don't use T3s myself - got into vivis and AGA stuff. Couldn't hear the sound on the video but it seemed to me that the shutdown takes too long and the pv confuses what is happening. I wouldn't expect any major catastrophe to occur - it does shut down and so should stop firing and cut off. But its certainly not something you'd want to keep vaping with like that.

The biggest changes I saw on the vids I watched and the information I read, were the cosmetic change (grooved so it's not so slick to hold and will hide the prints easier), bejeweled with rhinestones (now this is an option per one video!), it is no longer available in stainless but only chrome and black chrome over a brass body, it's lighter in weight and comes in two sizes. One is longer than the V2 by about 1/2 inch. Also, there is an option to get one that either only uses the 1 X 18650 or 2 X 18350 battery configuration or one like the V2 where it is sizeable to "stealth". Also,, the NO1 option was removed, the menu changed and the buttons "tightened" so they felt more substantial. It still has the VV/VW but it's changeable without changing modes. I'm sure there are other changes that I don't remember but maybe someone else can?

Ohh,, unless I'm wrong, it looks like it's made by more than one manufacturer as well.

I remembered a few more,,, if the body is a sizeable one, it separates at the top, not the bottom like the V2 and it comes with a "beauty ring" type adapter that is removable at the head. I wanna say it's so you it'll be more user friendly to some of those e juice delivery devices the V2 needs an adapter for but I could be wrong...

yeah the volume is low, my apologies. if you turn it way up you will hear the iclear firing on its own.
not the end of the world but definitely not good :)

Thanks for all that info Candik. I just pulled out the quote above because I can't understand why they needed to add half an inch. But then I don't understand the rhinestones either. :D
I hope the Vamo v2 continues to be made as I like that it is plainer and doesn't have the cosmetic grooves. If I want to wrap it its easy to do. I have wrapped one of my v2 Vamo's.
Be good if this gets moved to the Vamo forum - people tend to look there for info like this.

I've seen a video reviewer say his takes T3s in the comments under his SS Vamo v2 review, and have seen others say the ss v2 takes T3s.
Lot of people have been buying them from FastTech. I got mine from Health Cabin back when - mine are chrome and I'm happy with them. SS is a better finish tho.
