@Tamer El-Meehy: It is the first time I am doing this kind of research, so I will enquire with my university if I am allowed to share my findings and conclusions. However, I think it should be OK to share the survey results at least, but again I would have to check just to make sure I am not breaking any rules. Hope you understand.

For "how should they be regulated" you imply that some regulation is necessary. "Should not be regulated" should have been one of the choices.

Your distinction between NRT and e-cigs is also confusing as many consider e-cigs to be an NRT.

Wasn't at all confusing to me--and as for the scope, it was OP's survey. His decision. I thought it was a well constructed survey.

Well, you should have chosen "other." Simple as that.

That's no OP's distinction. In our vernacular, NRT means always Big Pharma's (non-electronic) products--gums, patches, etc. E-cigarettes are in their own category; they are either called e-cigarettes or ENDS (electronic nicotine delivery system), even be the FDA.

OP;
In questions about quiting, you need to ask what they think they are quiting.
tobacco? or Nicotine? or both?
I used e-cigs to quit tobacco, instantly, cold-turkey.
But kept my nicotine habbit intact.
So i didn't know how to answer.

The NRTs lie to us.
Saying we need to quit both.
So we fail.
Because we LOVE our nicotine.
We just hate tobacco and it's health risks.

I am a final year undergraduate student at Lancaster University (UK) conducting research about electronic cigarettes. My research analyses the consumer perceptions of nicotine with regards to cigarettes, NRT products and e-cigarettes and how this relates to proposed regulations of the latter in the UK and the EU.
