Why do people who change lines into a motorcycle, blame the motorcycle? I don't know how many times I've had to graze the edge of the road due to somebody not looking over their shoulder and pulling out into my lane right next to me. Some give single finger gestures, some just yell, others honk and then ride my tail afterwards. All as if I was in the wrong for being..what...in their way, alive and breathing...when they wanted to cut around the traffic in front of them. What is this thought process? If I was unable to avoid them and their horrible choice of timing in their lane change and they ran me over, would they get out of their car and kick me a few times before calling an ambulance for me?

Because it's hard for peoples to understand something not having been in someone else's shoes. Because they are scared and when they are scared they get angry. That's why.

Look at it from theirs point of view: they just driving, going to change a lane or overtake another "idiot" going to slow for them, and then blam! they almost hit you because you appeared from them "out of nowhere". At first they are scared and then they like "what the ....... he's doing there!".

Yes, people should learn to look in rear view mirrors, should know about blind spots and stop texting\chatting while driving. But thats another story...

GIMike...that's because people will think that you'll stop and get out of their way. My DH is a cross country semi driver. People in cars/trucks do the same thing to him especially coming off of on ramps to the interstate. Gawd forbid anyone gets stuck behind a semi...right? Wrong...personally, I'll let a big rig or motorcycle get ahead of me...I'm not in a big hurry to either kill someone or get killed. But there are 2 sides to your complaint. I've gone cross country with him and have seen motorcycle drivers, especially young people, weave in and out of traffic just because what?...they can? All I can think is your playing with your life. If you ever get a chance to ride along with a trucker, do it...you'll see crap like you've never dreamed. Please stay safe.

Not saying I've never done that before, but I hadn't done that this time. I was in the right lane, had been in the right lane for quite some time, and was coming up to a stop light...this person was in the left lane, realized the right lane was less backed up and so decided to move into the right lane so they could get through traffic faster. Not realizing that I was next to them when they pulled out. When I do something stupid, I lay claim to it. I don't blame other people for my stupidity. Unless that's the new "cool" thing to do. I still wouldn't do it though.

I dunno...I guess I just have a problem with somebody else blaming me for them almost killing me. I'm just glad I had the reflexes and ability to keep the wheels on the pavement and away from her car.

When I used to ride, i made sure to stay out of the blindspots of cars.

How do you stay out of the blind spot of a car that's stopped as you're pulling up to a traffic light?

Unfortunately my truck is about dead and I can't afford another vehicle :( Bike is all I got.

I used to ride. Had a bunch of high school idiots pull out right in front of me and had to lock up both brakes to avoid hitting them. I was fairly well used to it so it didn't bug me too much until they all started pointing and laughing. I rode up next to them and placed a steel toe right into their door panel. They didn't laugh too much after that...

Some times I can understand it. I was in the middle lane, behind another car, and we were passing a semi who was in the left lane. As soon as the car in front of me passed, the semi decided he wanted to move over. Luckily I was able to brake fast enough to get behind the car that was next to me in the right lane. I didn't even honk my horn that time, as I knew it was more important to move than be squarshed while beeping. I can understand these types of situations. It's when people who think they own the road and can move between lanes or turn in front of you, even when they're wrong, and blame you for it.

It's because basically every driver on earth is trying to kill you. that's the way I looked at it, and that saved my fat .... on several occasions.
