I've been reading here at ECF for weeks now and have heard a lot about the Provari's and the Vamo's but never looked into them. I had my two Ego Twists and was ok with those until one day both were charging at the same time. No vaping for a couple of hours! I'm letting myself chain vape cause that's keeping me off the cigs for now and plan on slowing down a bit as time passes so I can't be without a battery, I'll go nuts. So I figured it's time for a third battery.
I head over to my local B/M shop and get to looking at the batteries. I had planned on buying another Twist but then I spot what I think is a Vamo and ask about it. It is a Vamo I'm told. Sounded great! I can use different tanks, I can buy extra batteries and never run out of power. Sounded really great! Now that would be an awesome third addition to my gear collection! I would just have to learn the ins and outs of operating the thing. With the Vamo and my two twists I'd be set! The price was high but I figured it would be a little higher in a B/M shop versus online. And I would be supporting a local Vape shop, I liked that part. Also, since there seemed to be so much hype over the Vamo here on ECF I just assumed something so awesome would have to be pretty expensive.
But then I get home and hop on here to research and I think I didn't just overpay, I think I may have gotten taken for a ride. Please tell me I didn't! I paid $150. And I think it may be a first generation Vamo, I can't tell for sure but it's def not the Vamo 3. The Vamo included a generic charger and two generic Chinese 18350 batteries as well as two CE4's (I think that's what they were) but the owner let me swap them out for two Kanger T3S'. Which I'm now reading are not supposed to be used with a Vamo.
I would like to say though that I have used the T3S' on the Vamo and as long as I don't tighten the tank down on the Vamo to tightly I've able to use the T3S on the Vamo. worked fine. The first time I tried it I had to unscrew the tank from the Vamo upside down because the base of the tank stayed in the Vamo and the rest of the T3S came off. I had to get a pair of pliers and gently unscrew the base of the T3S from the Vamo.
So should I be kicking myself? Or are the B/M shops typically that much more expensive?
