Just got my first LP reos mod with reomizer rba - Built dual coils 8 wraps on 28g ken wire came out to .4 on ohm reader .
Im looking to get into the .7 .8 or higher with dual coils if that possible . any advice ?

My previous mod I was using is a Nemsis clone with patriot top - I built dual coils 5 wraps on 28g ken wire never tested coils so I cant tell ya what they were coming in at but I could imagine .2 - .3 reading from those coils . I now have a ohm reader I brought with the reos mod and looking to get into the .7 range with dual coils . :vapor:

Maybe try 30awg or 32. That'll give you the same coil length with a higher resistance. My Cyclone is set up right now with dual coil built with 30awg and it sits right at 1ohm. I'll probably try again with 28awg kanthal, this was my first ever dual build.

Edit: somewhere on this site is a kanthal coil calulator. It's called "Kanthal Coil Calc.xls" If you do a search you can probably find it. It is an excel spreadsheet however open office or something like that can probably open it. If you don't have excel. The others are free.

nice I will have to pick up some 30g ken wire and try this out , the reomizer is the smallest rba I ever built on I cant imagine going any more wraps in that lil rba but it works and vapes great . where did you get your cyclone at brotha ? I know that's a dumb question since they so hard to get right now but I want to try that cyclone out !

Well, you have options. Drop a gauge to 29, or add wraps. I have seen several pics of people running dual 10 wrap 26 and the comments were long heat up/cool down, and airflow placement problems. Not a lot of room in there for two tens with one air hole. I run parallel wraps in some, dual coils with the wires in parallel as part of one coil. It gives good warmth, but let's the one air hole be centered on the coil, reducing th. Can you describe what kind of vape you are looking for? Maybe what you liked about the nemi-patriot setup, I am sure someone will come along with a god suggestion.

I drilled a second hole on the cap and made the first hole a lil bigger to match 2nd hole - I aligned both holes on cap with coils and it don't taste bad , I used 28 g ken wire - so basically I need a higher ken wire then 28guage im using correct?
im basically just looking to get better taste I feel these low ohms .4 .5 aint giving me the best taste I can be wrong .

I got mine at intaste.de. It was a top feed AFC though. I sent it off to Chowderhead72 (here on ECF) and he drilled it out for me. Did a wonderful job, too! Supposedly Vicious Ant is working on a next gen Cyclone. If you get one that's top feed send Chowderhead72 a PM and he'll hook you up.

Good info - how long was delivery wait from there ? I can imagine it dont come with afc cap correct or does it

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Took about a week to get here, same as a stateside vendor. And I bought the one with the AFC kit so it came with an AFC cap but not the regular one. Cost me about 85.00 usd but it all depends on the exchange rate at the time you buy.

So there are few factors to consider with your original question of raising the resistance(Ω) of your dual coil setup in the RM2.

1) Wire Gauge
2) # of wraps
3) Internal Diameter (typical is 1/16th)

Then when comparing the RM2 with your Patriot RDA you will need to take into consideration the difference in chamber size, airflow and the pros and cons of each RDA separately.

If all you have off hand is the 28ga Kanthal I would first try to add a coupe more wraps to those coils and see how that works for you, 0.40Ω in a small RDA is pretty low IMO even with the right airflow it will burn through e-liquid on the wicks within a hit or two (not a problem for a BF, just squonk to re-wet your wicks but after every hit can get pretty tiring.) I tend to like my builds (even 0.20Ω) to allow me to get 3-5 nice drags before I need to squonk again. Adding a couple wraps dosnt add as much length as you would think with 28ga but if the response time is too slow for you you can use the same number of wraps around a 3/32" drill bit to try and raise the resistance. If neither of those work for you getting ahold of 29 or 30ga Kanthal is the next option.

I am wondering what size you drilled out your airholes. I am always weary of drilling out airholes and that is why i love RDAs with AFC. Drilling out airholes on a 22mm RDA like the Patriot is almost a given because I believe they stock holes are like 1.2mm IIRC and that wont be condusive to the lung inhales. Lets see a pic of the RM2 top cap airholes!

thanks brotha they seem to be out of stock as well

Try mountain oak vapors. They may have one left in stock. You have to hit the buy button and then they'll tell you if they're out of stock. Also, someone mention indy vapors. Might try them as well. Could be everyone sold out of the gen 1 Cyclones and aren't ordering any more until gen 2 comes out which should be soon.

good info . the stock hole on the reomizer was real small aswell for me since I was already vaping on dual coils on my nemesis I was used to bigger hits , here is a pic of my air hole I made the same air hole on the other side to let my 2nd coil breath . This thing is really hitting like a champ not much off from my nemesis , so the lower the resistance on the coils the warmer the vape gets correct? does taste change as well ?

I know your post was directed to someone else. Just wanted to throw out there that the taste does change for me. Seems more "burnt" the lower in ohms I go. But that's just me, YMMV. There sure are a lot of people who like sub-ohming so it might improve the flavor for them.

I figured some taste change would happen reason why I want to bring it up a little and try some dual coils .7 - 1.0 ohm. im really enjoying the reo right now at .4 I really don't have any complain except I need some better e juice to fill these reo bottles ! ha

wondering what battery you using on your reo ? im using a sony vtc 4 wondering if those red AW batterys are any better? I know reos mod recommends them on their site

I use both the vtc4's and the AW 1600mah in mine. Happy with both. I'm having an issue with some orbtronics 30 amps which I've heard, true or false, are just vtc4's with a button soldered on top and a new jacket put on. They just don't work well in my SL/LP which I bought when the new sub-ohm parts became standard. Haven't really researched why I have problems, I have plenty of other batteries so I just don't use them.
