Sub tank mini build advice.

hi, I've managed to blow about £60 worth on liquids that I've had no taste from. My most recent liquid that has no taste is the 'Creme De La Crema - Capone.' It's happened with a number of others as well, all 80%+VG.

I'm starting to wonder if it's my build for the rba?

I do 4-5 wraps at 3mm diameter and generally end up doing some form of pancake method. They come out at 0.5 ohm on the Kbox mini.

Can anyone advise on whether or not this could be my problem?

Your build Doesn't sound all that Out of the Ordinary. What range of Wattage do you run a Build like this at? How is the Vapor Production?

Hi! Thanks for the reply, I'm usually stopping at around 28 watt at the maximum. Vapor production is fine, perhaps even better than average, seems more sometimes.

I'm at a loss really, I'm basing my purchases off reviews from shops and YouTube vids. So far I've only found three that I actually can taste out of maybe 15 different liquids. I haven't smoked for over two years.

I can't tell you How Many e-Liquids I bought in the beginning based on "Fantastic" Reviews. And I had about the Same Luck as you did. About 3 or 4 out of 12 were Good.

Taste is just So Subjective. And what One Person likes might taste like Boiled Gym Sox's to someone Else.

Robert made a Good Suggestion. Maybe you should Try one of the e-Liquid Flavors that you know you Like but in 50/50?

PG is known as the flavor carrier. VG does not render flavor nearly as well.

What version of the RTA section are you using? The v1 has juice channels on the bottom of the build deck and v2 has juice holes in the chimney.

Zoid, yeah perhaps, I get very itchy with high pg juices, I used them for around a year till now, they taste pretty bad! Part of the reason I was so keen to try all these VG based ones was to get rid of the itchiness. Ah well.

I'm kinda the Same Way.

If I go much More that 25% PG in an e-Liquid, I start to get that Piece of Popcorn stuck in the Back of the Throat Dry Cough.

Yeah I know what you mean, like somethings stuck in the back of your throat. Yeah not nice.

So solution seems to be keep trying different ones (I have liquid states apple butter and element pink lemonade coming tomorrow, fingers crossed!) or slightly up the pg side.
Do you think a dual coil or different type of wire might help? I've got 26 gauge ATM.

I just do a regular 2.5 mm 1 ohm coil for mine and get decent flavor. I do use 50/50 though.
And make all my own juice with a max flavoring load of 7%.

V2. why do you ask?

I was going to tell you how I coil/wick mine but I have a v1. Wouldn't have done much good. I will say that with the v1 I am limited to 18-20 watts before I start losing flavor or gaining a burnt taste. Also, 4-5 wraps at 3mm seems like an awfully thin coil. Might want to try a smaller diameter with a few more wraps.

For a couple of them I get really good flavour, so I'm not dead certain my build is great. I can't go much higher than 25 and if I do it's just no flavour either.

I'd wish I'd known all this before I started, like 50% of this .... is subjective. Lol. Thanks for all your help in here anyway. Muchly appreciated.

Keep working at it. You'll find a sweet-spot and put all of this behind you.

I'm not a Big Fan of Dual Coils. For Flavor, I think Single Coils are Actually Better.

You could Try NiChrome 80 if all you have used is Kanthal A1. Some people like it Better. Many see No Difference. Just can't tell until you Try It.

On my STMs I use 30ga twisted-pair on a 3mm tool. IIRC, I use about 6 wraps. The finished coil comes out to .7-.9 ohms and has a very good balance between vapor production and flavor. ...for a STM anyway.

Don't Toss those Bad e-Liquids in the Bin.

Sometimes when an e-Liquid sits in a Cool, Dark Place for a couple of Weeks it will become Better.
