So decided to pick up a pack of the OCC 0.15 ni200 coils for subtank mini. Vertical.

Has a blue ring instead of red.
Shows 0.19 to 0.21 resistance at room temp which I lock it in.

Never really had any issue with the OCC 0.5 non-ni200 coils.

Using dna40 and eleaf tc40.

First ni200 I tried, crazy spitting.
Using vg/pg 80/20 and 70/30.

All airholes, especially wide open spit. 400F to 550F spitting.

So tried another one, same thing spitting.

after letting it warm up a bit, held button for 5 seconds without sucking, it was spitting and leaked soo much through airholes.

I was having better taste, but that's from the spitting as I could still taste it.

I would recommend against buying the OCC ni200 coils unless they get redesigned so they don't spit. The ni200 heats up more and I think causes any liquid to get too thin and floods and leaks through air hole.

Comparing the ni200 to the regular 0.5 coils they seem identical in build except kanthal looks to have a bit of space between wraps.
The ni200 OCC looks really close and alot more wraps. Can't tell if its touching without opening one up... Maybe later.

So just playing around, I got it to stop spitting.
I just took some extra cotton that came with the subtank mini and using the screw driver that came in it shoved as much cotton in the side holes till no more could fit on the ni200 coils.

Wetted it as pushing more in to get as much in. Spitting stopped.

I think kanger put in same amount of cotton in ni200 coils as the regular coils, but the ni200 needs more or a slight diff design.

I think I might have shoved too much cotton in as not as big clouds with biggest air hole but the 2nd hole does have good taste and decent vape.

I would stick with the the regular OCC coils by kanger for now over the ni200 OCC coils by kanger :(

In my time reading I feel like I'm missing out on some concept re: spitting. Instead of making it another complicating variable for adjusting your powers and wicking and blah blah blah, why can't you just pop a screen into your drip top? I haven't done it yet for my subtank mini (doesn't spit much) but the iSub I was using first for sure did a hellacious amount of popping, but its built-in screen meant I never felt a single spit. Is there a downside to adding a screen to other setups that I'm not aware of?
