Hi y'all. I got my eRoll today!! It came so soon, that the e-liquids I ordered aren't here yet, probably won't be until Wed-Fri next week. So I went over to Steam Cigs, a B&M nearby; they primarily specialize in e-pipes, but they have about 40 diff flavors of liquids, and they let you taste before buying.

You know I've been *dead set* against anything sweet, stuck as I am with the "burnt tobacco" taste I'm so used to, but I did manage to find something that tastes pretty good, very close to the way that my VA Slims *smell* before you light up -- it's called "Oak Barrel Cider" -- and with this e-roll, this is A-MA-ZING!!! They did recommend that I get 18mg instead of the 12 I thought would be best (the cigs I smoke are only 6), and geezus pete, is my head spinning! I feel like I'm 13 yrs old again, at the roller rink, trying out the forbidden cigarettes! Geez, was that really 40 yrs ago??? Gawd I'm old.

I've still got a bit over a pack of smokes, but I don't think it's gonna be long before I'm just plain DONE with them... :D :D :D

Most people say they don't like fruity or sweet flavors, then as soon as they try them they can't get enough!! It's all about finding your favorite flavor. It might take a while, seeing as there are so many different vendors and combinations of juices it might seem hard to find one.. My advice is too always give sample packs a go, Can't go wrong and if you like it you can get the bigger sizes and if you dont, no worries of big unwanted bottles of juice

Hi back at ya, Andria and thanks for sharing your story. It is great that you've found a flavor that works for you.

I will echo what has been said about our tastes changing. I smoked menthol cigarettes and I was only going to vape menthol type juices. The folks here encouraged me to be open to other flavors that were not tobacco or menthol related....because I no longer smoked. It took a while, but I went from using menthol-tobacco flavor juices to flavors like kiwi, mango (really like them), chocolate chip mint ice cream, strawberry (didn't like it at first, but tonight, 6 weeks after I bought it, I tried it again and it really hit the right taste buds) and peach. Later this week I will be ordering another sample pack from Mr. Vape and trying 5 more flavors. Hopefully I'll really like a few of them.

And you are so right about feeling like a teenager again with regard to vaping. Actually, I am enjoying vaping way more than I liked smoking, but there are times it feels like something I shouldn't be doing (which increases me wanting to do it).

I hope the pack of analogs you have will be your last. But if it isn't, don't sweat it. Everyone's journey is a bit different. Some folks quit analogs right away. Some give them up later and some folks are just smoking way less than they used to. Each of those scenarios are a success.

Keep the vape and namaste.

If you have trouble cheating at first, dont give up. I know it might seem like a bad idea at first, but throwing a little more money at the problem can really work out in your favor. I wasnt having the best success with ego style batts, but once I moved up to full fledged mods, I quit cheating. Its an individual thing, some people do fine on 510's or ego's, they might work great for you. There's nothing that compares to a good rba/rta atop a vv mod for me, lol

Congrats. I had the same feeling you do about the tobacco flavors when I started, but don't punish your taste buds by not giving some others a try. You wouldn't want only one flavor of drink or food, look at your liquid the same way. There are some amazing vendors with some really creative flavors out there

i had the same problem tried vaping and still smoked at work. Until i upgraded from ego to a vv/vw mod and tried banana nut bread. i didn't like the fruity vapes but the banana nut bread was deep and rich flavor. I don't vape any tobacco flavors anymore, but i am still finding juices that surprise me. My next mod will be a pipe mod not a stainless steel but a wood looking sherlock holmes style e-pipe. I never smoked a pipe but i think i'm starting to like look of them. My girlfriend thinks i will look ridiculous with it, but that is only fueling the fire to get one haha.

Hmm... I was kinda disappointed to see that the "vaping makes you stupid" thread got closed before I could even finish reading it, it seemed like such a merry affair, but I guess this thread is really better, in that it's a) ON TOPIC! ;), and b) maybe even useful (at least to me getting started on a new thing and maybe this time finally being able to get rid of the old stinky thing).

It's true that my ultimate goal with this is to give up cigarettes; they make my mild asthma worse, eventually they'll kill me, they smell like ... to everyone but me, and they cost a bleeding fortune -- oh, and I have to go outside in the freezing (or roasting -- this is GA after all and summer is mighty long) weather just to partake! But I'm not going to try and do it as I did before, either cold turkey or with patches, rubber bands on the wrist, gaining 30 lbs because of nibbling all the time, and then eventually wind up hating myself because I still can't do it. None of that BS this time. I can already see that it's easier to pick up my charged eRoll and have a couple hits, than to have to interrupt whatever I'm doing, put on my coat and gloves and hat and go out to the porch. And here's something I never expected, certainly not this soon: after I had been sitting here at my desk having a few hits on the e-cig while I got dinner ready (my desk is IN my kitchen, so handy for a housewife who web-designs!), after I ate I went on outside for my customary after-dinner smoke -- and that first smell/drag, that ashtray smell hit me smack in the face. It passed pretty quickly, it's what I'm used to, after all, but I think the more I do this e-cig thing, the less I will enjoy the burnt-smell kind, and that means I'll eventually just retire them, rather some big dramatic "I quit! kinda thing.

It's a little weird, though, at the moment; the nicotine is 3 times stronger than what I'm used to, and it does have a bit of sweetness; not like the caramel/vanilla kinda taste of the first few they let me sample, it's more tart, that cider-ish taste, but between that sweetness and the strong nicotine, it's kinda grossing me out the way cigarettes did, the first time I smoked one. I can't seem to get that sweet smell out of my sinuses (I really do have an uncanny sense of smell, it's really a curse). But maybe it's a good thing, it keeps me from going hogwild on something I'm just getting used to, so maybe I won't get the scratchy throat that some new vapers get.

Here's what I'm wondering now; since that first taste of this at the shop, I *recognized* this smell, but it's not really the cidery taste, I think, but maybe the oak smell -- do they age some tobacco in oak? Maybe that's what gives VA slims their rather unique taste, their sharpness; maybe it's a tannic smell, the way some cheap wines are sharp, tannic and kinda bitter. Does anyone know of any tobacco flavors like "aged in oak"? That might be a really good find.

And yeah, I'm sure my insistence on tobacco flavors will pass; it tastes like crap to non-smokers, I know for a fact. :)

Congrats Andria, remember when I first started to vape, felt the electronic vaporizers delivered a much better nic hit than smokes did. Even more so now that I've upped my gear.

All of us looked for the elusive needs to taste like my smoke juice. It is not there, it ain't gonna happen. lol. Even the tobacco flavors that are available can't possibly taste as nasty as the smoke we thought we enjoyed. Most, if not all, of us once being vapers for awhile, when we do try a smoke, discover how Nasty they really taste. And can't understand how we tolerated them for so many years.

Everyone starting vape would save a lot of time, money and frustration if they looked for flavors the enjoyed and satisfied the need not to smoke. Instead of chasing the phantom "taste like my brand" juice, we'd be ahead of the game. Finding the right juice, flavor, VG/PG ratio, nic level, is one of the more frustrating part of vape. Then once our taste and smell recover, and we upgrade our gear, that can all change again.

Vape long and Prosper!!!

Hey hey!!! Andria,

So happy you're getting well on your way!

Yeah, that nicotine "buzz" happened with me too. For me, it was very unpleasant but passed after about a week or two. If you do start to feel nauseated I would definitely suggest you go back and get some at 12.

You're in for a real ride--the first month or two are going to be very interesting for you, I think! Not in a bad way, but vaping isn't smoking and I noticed that sleep was in short supply, and the e-cig was like a pacifier for a while. Sometimes, I even forgot to eat!

So yeah, enjoy it!!
