Such a newbie! I am so lost and confused!

My husband and I want to quit smoking and have used the $9.99 non rechargeable 500 puff ecigs and well as 2 differend rechargeable with cartriges. BUT.....these just don't have the throat feeling of smoking, just what you see blowing out, not the sucking in. We are ready to upgrade to the ones with the liquids and that will recharge. My husband likes just the normal cig taste as I have tried different types of flavors and have enjoyed those.

We want to keep the cost down, like most people. I have seen some online at e-cigs.com and their prices seem pretty resonable. Is this the way to go? or what else would you recommend and where would I go?

I have no clue what all the e-cig/vaping vocabulary is and I am honestly getting lost. Help would be greatly appriciated in explain what some of these attachments and other stuff is.

Thank you so much in advance!!!!

Ego style batteries are ALWAYS a safe bet. Many suppliers online will have kits at reasonable prices. Many different models, but I suggest the twist, because later you might want even more heat and throat hit. Most suppliers will have videos explaining the twist. If not there is always Youtube. Juices are a learning experience. You will buy and love or buy and hate. It takes a little while.

There are also cartomizers, clearomizers and tank cartomizers the things that hold your liquid, your preference determines which is best for you.

Lots and lots of juices to choose from. Buy small samples until you find something you will do all day, then buy a very large bottle of it.

Egos are a good cheap starting route to get you going and above the level of the cig style.

I went from that to a Telescope and Bolt because the batteries last longer (more usage time and lifespan) and are cheaper.

Just got an ego vv (variable voltage) to play with to try and get better vaping experience.

Will not be buying any more hardware until I recoup my initial investment.

Started with Blus and got to 1/2 pack/day, when I switched to egos took 1.5 days to quit cigs.

Thanks for some of the advise. Is there any website you can recommend?

No, there are lots of sites I can recommend :). And depending on what you are getting the sites are different.

Look in the forum section under suppliers and you can get a huge list.

My APVs or Mods (Advanced Personal Vaporiser or modified e-cig; look in the abbreviation section for terms) I got from madvapes.com as well as some juices, tanks, vivi novas and cartomizers.

2 other popular ones are: discountvapers.com and gotvapes.com, beyond that others can give ones they use or just search here.

I would get a kit since you don't have anything, usually cheaper and I believe there are sales now as well as sales coming up.

You can look in the suppliers forums, they post when they have sales and contests.

there is MANY you can buy items from, but no real one stop shop. most people find a place they like to buy their PV from, then a place to buy juice from, and another to buy cartos, tanks, and attys from

start off by reading, then do some more reading, then follow that up with more reading. there is a wealth of info here. start off in the New Members Information thread. it goes through a lot of the technical terms and types of devices. if you notice a word with some "....." underneath it hover your mouse over it and it will display what the term is.

as for starter device you really can't go wrong with an ego twist or vision spinner, they are cheap and give you the ability to "tune in" your desired flavor with variable voltage. if you really want a cig-a-like looking PV then i've heard a lot of good things about the Volt from smokeless image. of course there is a WORLD of upgrades you can go to from an ego.

good luck and welcome!

Have you looked for a local shop? They are popping up more and more. Not the gas station or mall kiosk, but a real store. This gives you a chance to handle what you are thinking about and see if it will work for you. Most of them will also let you sample different juices to see if you find something you like better. I'd suggest starting close to home, then go to an online retailer if needed.

I live in Washington State, and I havet seen any "stores" for ecigs. I have seen a couple kiosks (WAY TOO EXPENSIVE) and have seen a few ecigs at the local smoke shops, just not sure if they are good repuative products.

I will keep looking though.

It is usually much cheaper to purchase ecig equipment online.

Thank you so much for all the information!!!! I think I am going with the E Cigarette Deluxe CE4 through e-cig. It is $40.95 which includes 2 batteries and 2 cartriges for fluid, charger etc..., therefore I can have one and my hubby can too. Thier fluid is only $0.95 for a 10ml bottle. Is that for just a ONE cartridge? Once I finish that fluid, do I have to get the same fluid? or how do I clean the cartridge to get another fluid?

Does this sound like a good deal? I also upgraded the batteries for 1100...the medium upgrade for $4.95 more.

Hi, Seattle, and welcome aboard, Congrats on your decission to switch!

Please send us a link or a better description of that website and we can look at that kit and answer your questions.

My husband and I started this about 5 months ago and were on a VERY tight budget!! We did the same thing, bought one kit and each used a battery. That Is not ideal, but it really worked for us and then as we started saving money not smoking, we bought more batteries and supplies. It's very do-able that way, but remember you will need to get backup batteries in the next month or so!

I think this is what she is talking about:

http://www.........../shopping/products/64-E-Cigarette-CE4/

Did some searching on them and the worst I could find was that shipping seemed a bit high and some people didn't like the flavors and others thought it was ok, no one complained about the price of the liquids. Didn't see them on the forum supplier list: Forum Suppliers List. You can find info on the suppliers here: Forum Suppliers

What is the cost of shipping from that site? They have a coupon code: ECIGTHANKSGIVING for 15%.

Looks like 2 CE4 clearomizers, you can wash these, there is a video on you tube where a woman shows how to do it with a syringe and then dry burn it. I'm not sure how many people reuse these or just order new ones.

The CE5 deluxe comes with CE5 clearomizers where you can remove and wash or replace the wicks easily. The CE4's cost 9.19 for replacement, CE5 wicks cost 3.45. Nice thing about the CE5 is you can cut the wicks if that is to your liking.

I would upgrade to the 1300mah for that extra dollar over the 1000mah.

There is a drops/ml cigarette conversion chart. I'm using about ~2ml/day would last me 5 days. You can get different liquids, most people do because your taste buds get acclimated and you need to switch up sometimes.

I would go for the CE5 and some extra coils on initial order, I would also order more juice than just 10ml. I like the 3-5ml sampler sizes some companies have so I don't have a giant bottle of yuck that sits on the shelf :).

Couple of similar alternates, you can find kits lots of places; I have ordered from madvapes and apollo before:

Ego electronic cigarette
510 Redux eGo Clearomizer Kit
510 Vision V2 Clearomizer eGo Tank Kit
GotVapes StartMeUp! New Vaper COMPLETE Kit - Everything Included [gc-NEWVAPERego-starterkit] - $79.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
